What are you going to do on that day? -

Vesak Day Programme @ BDMS*
Vesak Eve - 30th May 2007 (Wednesday) at 7.30pm
- Offering of lights and flowers
- Special Puja
- Film show - Interesting and entertaining film about life in a
Korean monastery
- Sharing of food (Please bring some to share)
Vesak Day - 31st May 2007 (Thursday) at 10.00am
- Offering of lights and flowers
- Special Puja
- Distribution of blessed honey milk rice
*According to tradition, the young woman Sujata offered the Buddha milk rice just before he attained enlightenment
- New Book Launch “Buddha and His Disciples” in Chinese, for
free distribution
- Vegetarian buffet lunch
- Film Show - Inspiring film about the famous Taiwanese nun,

As for myself.. I will be attending Vesak Day activities at my dharma center (http://www.humanbliss.com.sg/knowledge_activity.htm) on Thurs morning.. however wants to join me just PM me
After that... I might go around see see different monastries... -
I will go to The Mahaprajna Buddhist Society ( Hui yan fo xue hui) to visit my gui yi shi, Ven. Hou Zhong. May not have much opportunities to see him again after he leaves for Taiwan, his hometown. Oh, there's a fund raising event at The Mahaprajna too. I've to bring more cash.
Then later I may visit the Buddhist Arts Museum ( Nei Xue Tang) at Cantonment Rd which is holding a priceless exhibition of the late Ven. Master Hsu Yun's robe, alms bowl and letters. -
Eve at PKS participating in the 3 steps 1 bow ceremony, if all goes well. Then on actual day, will be at Karma Choying participating in their Vesak even, and attend teaching by Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche in the afternoon.

Actually wanted to go relics temple... but tight schedule these days so maybe will visit only when it's open. Wonder when's the opening date.

According to the chinese website, the official opening is on the 30 May 06, but what's the difference between soft opening and the hard opening? Me presently in 18th English Dhamma Course & nearly completing 2nd yr.

No, I've never attended any courses by TMBS. If yes, then I would have belong to the very first batch of Chinese Dharma class conducted by Ven Hou Zhong in 1986 or earlier. If I rememeber correctly, there was no English Dharma class yet. I sounded "old".
Oh, is Ven Chang chin your Dharma master? He was a student then. Very bright. I don't know him personally though. I was like a Ninja Turtle; flashing in and out...

Went dharma center just now.. singing, bathing the Buddha, followed by a short meditative session. Then later I went to visit ABC tentage (on the way to the MRT).. after that went to Palelai Buddhist Temple (near my home) and took home two books by Ajahn Chah: "The Key to Liberation" and "Bodhinyana"

It is 31st May over here in USA and i am going to spend my day working, sleeping and eating.. maybe with more mindfulness.... then less errors.
