You have to balance the knowledge of certain death and the fact that you are still alive.
You have to balance the knowledge that you are empty of inherent existence and that you are reading this at the moment.

YOGYAKARTA (Antara):Indonesia's second largest Muslim organization Muhammadiyah has urged the Taliban in Afghanistan to release unconditionally the 21 South Koreans they have taken hostage.
"Whatever the reason for the hostage taking of the 21 South Korean nationals by Taliban fighters, the action cannot be justified," Muhammadiyah chairman Din Syamsuddin said Monday.
"We ask the world-famous Taliban fighters to immediately set the hostages free without any condition," Din Syamsuddin said, adding that the hostage taking was tarnishing the image of Muslims.
He said hostage-taking action was never tolerated in Muslim religious teachings.
Din Syamsuddin said Muhammadiyah had actually proposed that the South Korean government form a delegation of Muslim figures from Asia-Pacific countries to go to Afghanistan to overcome the problem.(***) -

People can choose to live in REALITY, and RATIONALITY or BELIEFS
To live in REALITY AND RATIONALITY, you need to be able to think correctly and so many people simply live wit beliefs.
If you are incapable of Rational thoughts and have no idea about logic, living with the right beliefs will have to do.
So the alternatives are, be a REALISTIC RATIONAL LOGICAL PERSON or live irrational lives with the right beliefs or else you might end up like the Taliban, living irrational lives AND the wrong beliefs.

The Theists who posted in this forum has the best of intentions, yet they have impinged upon the forum hosts.
The Korean aid workers also have the best of intentions when they set out to Afghanistan, yet I wonder if they have also inadvertantly offended their hosts in the course of their humanitarian works...
Be that as it may, they still deserve better than to be taken hostages and killed in cold blood.
May the Korean hostages be free of all pains and sufferings and regain their freedom
May the Talibans be free of their hatred and ignorance.
May all beings be at peace.

Father of 2 South Korean hostages waits and hopes

BUNDANG, South Korea: Seo Jeong Bae was not too worried when his daughter and son, both Christians, told him last month that they were going to Afghanistan on an aid mission to help children in the Islamic country.
His daughter had already traveled to Uzbekistan, India and Uganda for volunteer work. "Father, don't worry. We don't proselytize. How can I?" she assured her father, who is not a Christian. "I can't even speak the language." Above all, Seo supported his children's trip because he knew what it was like to be a child growing up in a war-ravaged country; he was born in February 1950, four months before the outbreak of the Korean War.
"Whenever I saw those poor children on television, I thought of my own childhood," Seo said. "I felt good and proud when my children left for Afghanistan." -

I understand. There is such a thing as conducting/doctoring experiments or even designing experiments to prove one's theory. But you know this is not what we were taught in school (the innocence part). The greed part is when scientists want to become famous. That is not pure science but evil science. So, generally speaking, we refer to the former. -

Conflicting claims on Taliban-held Korean hostages

GHAZNI, Afghanistan (Reuters) - Afghanistan's Taliban said on Saturday they had freed two female South Korean hostages, but local and national government officials said they had no knowledge of such a release.
"Today at 6.30 pm (1330 GMT), we released two of the female Korean hostages who were seriously ill, without any condition," Taliban spokesman Qari Mohammad Yousuf told Reuters by telephone from an unknown location.
"It's possible that at any moment they will reach Ghazni, it all depends on the transport. As far as we are concerned, they are free ... It's a gesture of good faith to the people of Korea and to the Korean delegation in Afghanistan."
However, the governor of Ghazni province, where the group of Korean church volunteers were seized on July 20 and are thought to be held, and a spokesman for Afghan President Hamid Karzai said they had no knowledge of any release. -

Reuters witnesses in Afghanistan say Taliban guerrillas handed over the two to the Red Crescent after they were driven by car to the village of Arzoo near Ghazni city.
