aiya, of course i bless the koreans, i'd be glad if they would be returned safely, but just that everything look rather bleak, the govt themselves are silent. they already said, die die oso won't release the captives, no need to negotiate already wat.

You are assuming that what you know is all there is to it. Are you sure that it is all there is to it? How many times what you think you know is wrong and how many times did you change your mind because new information that you did not have came in?

Why can't it be that the Koreans are negotiating a price for their return? Why can't it be that the Islamic elders are trying to persuade the terrorists that it is against Islam to take women as hostage?

If you learn some Buddhism or Philosophy, it will be good for you.
We don't know and so we stay positive and think positive thoughts and BLESS the HOSTAGES.

By right, Jews and Christians are also "people of the Book" in the Quran, so by right they should not be persecuted by the Muslims. However, the Taliban is comprised of a group of extremists, and as we have seen, will not compromise to get their ways done, even if it means by spilling innocent blood.

The hostages may have been divided into 3 groups, of which for 2 groups, the hostages may be released by paying a huge ransom, while for the other group, they adamantly want their fellow comrades to be released. -

On Wednesday, the Taliban killed the leader of the 23 volunteers they snatched last week from a bus on the main highway in Ghazni, which lies to the southwest of the capital Kabul.
Give in to their demands, they capture more and more innocent people. Don't give in, they might kill the hostages.
But several previous deadlines have passed without them carrying out their threats to kill others.
I thank you, whoever you are, for the well wishes, prayers, chanting, meditating, blessings and kind words and thoughts on behalf of the hostages and their families. Please continue to bless them. -

It is best not to label people... they are neither friend nor enemy nor good nor bad... (what Buddhism calls non-dualistic)
They go around killing people the authorities (those that have taken up the job and is their responsibility) will have to try to capture or kill them... but it is not useful to think of them in terms of good or bad or friend or enemy.
If your relative, not just friend, behaves like the Taliban, and it is your responsibility, you have to try to capture or kill them too (if you can't change their minds or you think it is unlikely that you can change their minds)
Actually I wanted this thread to be purely a bless the hostages thread but since you mentioned it...
Remember to bless the hostages and say a kind word and have a kind thought for them... -

Though we should not attach to relative truths as if they are ultimately true and existent, otherwise we attach to forms and persons, right and wrong. While working on relative truths, we should not personalize a situation and just base on pure facts.
Also, I think the more appropriate term in Buddhism is not 'bless others'... we don't 'bless others', we can only 'dedicate merits to them' and also 'the grace of triplegem will bless'. -
