Singapore will always have my blessings...I chant "Namo Amituofo" everyday and dedicate the merits to all sentient beings.... Does "all sentient beings" extend to Singapore as a nation or do I have to specifically dedicate merits to Singapore as a nation?

yes, i believe "all sentient beings" would include all sentient beings in the dharma realms and ten directions, which would surely include tiny Singapore as a nation.
or if you are somewhat doubtful, you can dedicate "dual" merits to Singapore follow by all sentient beings.
all and all, i prefer to save people's dharma bodies(fa sheng hui ming) than their life bodies (sheng ming).

The quake, which had a preliminary magnitude of 7, triggered a tsunami warning but the alert was quickly lifted after it became clear no destructive waves had been generated, the country's geophysics agency said.
The earthquake struck under the Maluku Sea at a depth of 20 miles, the U.S. Geological Survey said on its Web site. The quake's epicenter was more than 130 miles north of Ternate city.
"We felt a strong tremor for almost a minute, people ran in panic from buildings, said George Rajaloa, a resident in Ternate. "Children are crying and their mothers are screaming, but there is no damage in my area."
Indonesia, the world's largest archipelago, is prone to seismic upheaval due to its location on the so-called Pacific "Ring of Fire," an arc of volcanos and fault lines encircling the Pacific Basin.
In December 2004, a massive earthquake struck off Sumatra island and triggered a tsunami that killed more than 230,000 people in a dozen countries, including 160,000 people in Indonesia's westernmost province of Aceh.
Just over a year ago, another quake-generated tsunami killed around 600 people on Java island. -
The only "disaster" that can probably hit Singapore is a terrorist attack, not a natural disaster. If Singapore was prone to natural disasters, the tsunami wuld have hit Singapore, but due to our geographical position, it would be almost impossible for one to hit.

Britain for example faces the same thing with its narrow stretch of land along its eastern coast. London was hit by several massive floods because of the enhanced tsunami effect thanks to the narrow passage of water. -
i was chitchating with a buddhist friend, he guessed the fall of ecomomic, but i don't think so, as spore got backup money. i guess maybe some kind of dengue or disease outbreak? hmm...

Actually a mild variation of outbreak had already, if not, it is still occuring. Dengue fever is outbreaking. Plus this few days of raining, it will even help in encouraginig the growth of this dengue fever outbreak.

It's say there's a lot of grievances and it touch the heavens so it snow or "yuan qi chong tian" -
mm let hope it is not so, perhaps there is scientific reasons on why there is snow in singapore.. Anyway there will be a number of fa hui in the Lunar seventh Month. It will be a good opportunity to help dedicate merits to the sentient beings who are suffering and lessen the collective yuan qi accumulated.
I do hear wind of this from someone too. However, i am not sure of the source. I didn't hear that it will happen in singapore..nevertheless..when some things bad happen on the other side of this globe will also affect singapore... as we are living in a world that depends on one another.
Let cultivate ourselves and also pray that this thing will not happen and if happen in lesser degree.

Its been some time since i last visit sgforums, so happenly this thread caught my eye.
Anyway, i had a dream this afternoon, looks like a natural diaster is taking place, and many parts of the world were affected... thats all i recall...
oh yeah, i was reading articles about the "12th planet/ Nibiru / Planet X" and keep keeping track of earth changes few yrs back..
