BTW a person from my dharma center also received this SMS... and she asked my dharma teacher for her opinion on it... because we don't know if it's true.
She say, encouraging others to chant Guan Shi Yin Pu Sa is a good thing, but if (it is false) and it incites unnecessary fear and disturbance on others that is also not good. After that the person stopped spreading the message.
So I feel that one should find out the source and authenticity of the message before spreading it through SMS and emails.. as there are a lot of such things circulating that were not from authentic sources. -
but what If it's true, have to consider if it's true also de...imho i think this scenario is like the poison arrow simile.
if gana shot by arrow, u don't treat the wound first, instead go and look for the person who shot it. though we are no FBI, not easy to trace the source wan. if the arrow got posion, it'll be too late to save already.
for me, i'll recite first then i would just forget. even if false alert, just forgive. no lost. all gain for me. why gain?
actually, i think bodhisattvas can also skillfully incites some disturbance once a while to people who live in comfy state.
for example the 911 incidence, on the brighter side, people after that were more united and mindful etc. there's lesson to learn.
