Yes, karma is totally real.Originally posted by dokono:Is there such a thing as a bad karma? Does karma ever exist only in the mind?
How come some people do so many bad things only to experience no bad karma or even good karma as we call it ?
Any comments ?

It is harder because of the many inconvenience and pain that a woman has to go through compared to man.Originally posted by goldevil:i read in some books , they said a female's route to buddhism is harder .
even buddha have many past lives before attaining buddhahood .
That is your belief and assumption.Originally posted by Herzog_Zwei:I believe that Karma as believed in Buddhism is very unreal.
Forget about religion and just be alive enough to know that the law of Karma appliesOriginally posted by Herzog_Zwei:I believe that Karma as believed in Buddhism is very unreal.

Tell that to a virus or bacteria.Originally posted by An Eternal Now:What do you mean by 'everything'?
Inanimate things are not bound up by karma or rebirth.
Huh why?Originally posted by Herzog_Zwei:Tell that to a virus or bacteria.![]()
Are they inanimate? And what makes you so sure they do not undergo rebirth while humans do?Originally posted by An Eternal Now:Huh why?
Anyway virus and bacteria are not considered as sentient beings, they do not have consciousness and the aggregates of a sentient being, and do not undergo rebirth and so on. So they do not have karma.

[Q] But scientists can also interpret, by using subtle tools of laboratory inquiry.http://khyentsefoundation.org/2007_07_rinpoche_on_buddha_nature.html
And they see that plants also respond.
[A] I cannot say that all plants donÂ’t have mind, although IÂ’m also not saying that they are beings. This is something that is beyond me. But in The Words of My Perfect Teacher , Patrul Rinpoche writes that there are hell beings trapped in the form of brooms, beams and so on. ItÂ’s infinite. I cannot really say, but I have to say that there are so-called inanimate phenomena in this world, and those inanimate phenomena donÂ’t have rig , kham or family. If a plant has the kham, then I guess you have to say that it has all these Buddha qualities.
They are exceptions of animate things.Originally posted by Herzog_Zwei:Are they inanimate?
And what makes you so sure they do not undergo rebirth while humans do?They do not have nervous system, are incapable of consciousness, and so on.
Beings trapped in trees too... like the famous storey about the monkey spirit in the trees. (though NOT all trees have spirits, only some)Originally posted by sinweiy:http://khyentsefoundation.org/2007_07_rinpoche_on_buddha_nature.html
