I for one believe that Jesus is a Bodhisattva emanation. I can write something lengthy but some may disagree and I don't want to engage in any long discussions on this issue.Originally posted by Herzog_Zwei:Why don't you ask the christians? Why ask the buddhists something they don't care about?

I thought buddhists are taught not to differentiate between good and evil.Originally posted by An Eternal Now:I wrote before:
There is a difference between Buddhism and other religions. First of all we must understand that there are three things which all Buddha teaches: 1) Avoid all evil 2) Do all that is good 3) Purify one's mind.
I agree with you. The person who made up the story is just trying to pull pple to believe in Christianity. He is spoiling the name of Christianity and Buddhism.Originally posted by An Eternal Now:Oh and... the false story of the terrible lake of fire in the URL (completely made up!!)
Please read: http://www.buddha.sg/htm/general/faq01.htm (The Hoax Story of Remarkable Testimony of a Buddhist monk in Myanmar (Burma) who came back to life a changed man!)
I think those who came up with these false stories or false 'scriptures' to deceive people are indespicable...
We must be able to differentiate and yet not be attached.Originally posted by Herzog_Zwei:I thought buddhists are taught not to differentiate between good and evil.
Should say Amitabha!Originally posted by knightlll:I agree with you. The person who made up the story is just trying to pull pple to believe in Christianity. He is spoiling the name of Christianity and Buddhism.
Sorry to say , i think he would be likely to be in the hell in the future.

Well said.Originally posted by sLeEpWaLkErInG:Ask yourself b4 you sleep every night, reflect on the actions, communication, etc whether what was done well and what was bad, what need to be improve on to live your life to the max, what has to be done or have not been done and you will not regret anything today if you are not able to wake up the next day.
I am not cursing the person who made up that story. I am just saying that he slanders dharma , make up story and etc , read that somewhere in sutra will land in hell. Dont worry , i dont have any hatred towards that person.Originally posted by An Eternal Now:Should say Amitabha!

v. If we happen to pass by an abattoir, a place where pigs, cows or other animals are slaughtered, and since we understand that the effect of the karma of killing is rebirth in the realm of hell, and we make a verbal comment to that effect, is it appropriate? While we do not know whether the person who is committing the killing will be reborn in hell, but when we speak of hell, we immediately strike a resonance with hell. Because suffering and darkness prevail in hell, at the mention of the word, we have already struck an accord with suffering and darkness. If we say "Amitabha Buddha" instead, then brightness spontaneously illumines in our mind and the image of the abattoir will not take root in our mind.
ThanxOriginally posted by An Eternal Now:Well said.
By naming it, are you still attached to evil?Originally posted by An Eternal Now:We must be able to differentiate and yet not be attached.
