how to get rid of lust

lust is so hard to get rid of .
I have been fighting lusty thoughts .
sometimes when I have this thoughts , I will restrain them .
I will think of other positive things and the lusty thoughts will go away .
how to go up to the next level ?
free from such thoughts .
I think I am badly affected by japanese manga and anime that i stopped reading them . -
You don't get rid of them... You should just accept them as part of you and your life!!

In my opinion, lust is usually a sudden rush of urge in that particular time frame. Just ignore it and let it go and it will go off. If keeping positive thoughts will make your lustful thoughts go away, then it is good for you! At least you have found a way to handle your lustful thoughts. And what you have done is one of the practice of the Four Rightful Efforts --- eliminate unwholesome thoughts that have arisen.
And one of the method for doing so will be bringing up positive thoughts, diverting the attention away from the lustful thoughts.
The manga and anime probably act as a stimulants to make your lustful thoughts arise easier.
But be thankful and grateful that you have observed that. I believe some can't even do that. -

u know my eyes seem to have a desire to see beautiful things .
the root of problem comes from my eyes .
I think one eyes or mind should c both pleasent and unpleasent things in equal magnitude .
maybe like that = no lust -

Simple, just remove all your brains and you will never lust again.
Of course that leaves you just pure dead.
Otherwise, just as someone stated earlier, live with it. -

You can't get rid of lust..... it's been programmed into us, humans. to have carnal desires.
You can, however, master control over them so that these instincts don't control you.................

I deemed money to be something necessary to survive in sg also as homebound buddhists .
because we are home bound buddhist who learned abt buddhist after we have ur first dharma lesson by a teacher , we also practise buddhism at home instead of monastary .
different buddhists book say different things , kind of confusing .

but he was so kind to give us an introduction abt buddhism .

Your eye has no problem. It is just that the forms you have seen from your eyes are transmitted to your mind and thus form a eyes consciousness. And that probably you're habitually affliated to seeing beautiful things, therefore beautiful things appeal to you easier. But no worries lah, I believe most of us like beautiful things too. Personally I will suggest that you do commit to some regular volunteer work, understanding more about the less fortunate and I think anturally you will learn to appreciate life and that such issue will gradually be solved.
