Just want to say the moderators here are very patient when answering queries from free-thinkers and members of other religions. They are able to answer calmly, queries that don't seem to be really about learning about a particular faith or religion, but more about challenging and insinuating that a particular faith is a superstition, cult or fad etc, and that its followers or practitioners are mindlessly following those teachings.
In other words, all those who believe in a religion, is indirectly linked or compared with a person with a mental illness; one who has delusional thoughts all the time.
But those who ask such seemingly rational or logical questions do not appear to want to recognise, much less accept willingly and humbly, those core values which are beneficial to all living beings in the teachings of most religions.
I say this of myself too. Therefore I constantly remind myself I must not totally avoid making friends from other races, cultures and religions. I also must learn about their cultures and beliefs with an open but respectful mind and attitude.
The only precaution I would take is to avoid people who are manipulative, directly or indirectly teach or suggest values or ideals that focus on individual freedom and happiness, and nothing about how everyone is linked physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually at the very source of life itself.
I really cannot make it as moderator of a religious forum thread at this point in my life as I know I'm not patient and calm enough, not to react to provocative or at times seemingly dogmatic questions posed to me.
