He is not joking. There is indeed the claim that people get enlightened after going through the process, an initial enlightenment. I do not think it will happen to everyone, though it is possible... but not very likely. (at least not 'less than two hours')Originally posted by airgrinder:i think TS is just joking.
Just laugh lah

This provides us with the chance to wake up. You have this chance to wake up right now, in this moment, and in every moment. Thus enlightenment is already yours.
Most of us tend to think - and have been taught - that it's the other way around, that we've got to figure something out. But no. We don't need to fgure out our own experience; it's already here, firsthand.
You are already enlightened. All you've got to do is stop blocking yourself and get serious about attending to what's going on. You are not lacking a thing. You only need to stop blocking or interpreting your vision.

Enlightened people don't go to heaven, they transcend heaven if they are liberated from samsara.Originally posted by TWE:If everyone can get enlightened in 2 hours ? then don't you think heaven will be over populated ? And do you think there will still be human in this world ? Common sense please .

The Best of the Best must still practice Buddhism
Q: I'm living without problems with clothes and food, I treat others well, others treat me well, my life is happy, why should I practice Buddhism?
A: You treat others well, others treat you well, your marriage's relationship is very well, life is happy, but there is something you cannot do and cannot say: "the present is very well, so I will not get sick, I will not die." We should know that to practice Buddhism, most importantly is to liberate from birth and death, seek liberation, open our wisdom, walk the Bodhisattva way, that is why we still have to practice Buddhism, learn (to be like a) Bodhisattva. Though your life is well, but you are now in the human realm, if you want it to be better, you can seek rebirth in heaven, for that you have to practice the 10 virtuous deeds and avoid doing any evil deeds. But to be further, though ascending to the heavens is better, it is not ultimate, for when your celestial blessings have finished, you will still fall, so how? We have to seek liberation, walk the Bodhisattva way, until attaining Buddhahood -- that is the best and most ultimate, that is why all worldly beings must practice Buddhism.
When you become enlightened, there is nothing as cherishing or not cherishing... Because there is no one and nothing to cherish. It's just seen through.Originally posted by TWE:Ok nvm since you take my " heaven " literally , whatever then . What i trying to say is anyone ever wonder what if all the pple in this world were to be enlightened lets just give it 2 months lar . What will you think of the buddha realm ? First thing is it will make enlightenment so easy to get that pple wun bother to cherish it .
Buddha realm is not a physical dimension. When one attains Samyaksambuddhasa, that one extinguish from cycle of rebirth, though Mahayana would claimed that Buddha could appear in the Threefold World by the power of vow but that's another issue.Originally posted by TWE:Ok nvm since you take my " heaven " literally , whatever then . Anyway I think it is the easiest thing that is most difficult to do. I remember playing a RPG, my hero character met this guy who is the greatest chef (in the game). His best dish is a sunny side up. The chef said something very true, which is it is the human who always like to make simply and easy things complicated which in turn confused themselves. Even in martial arts doctrine, the highest level is often seeking back to simplicity. Real martial arts experts don't have fight like the ones we watch on TV, with flips and eye-catchy moves. Real expert often finish his opponent in 1 to 2 simple moves like a straight punch or grapping technique (which is damn fast).
Sorry to have diverted, but I think the spiritual path is the same. If the belief that we all do have that Buddha-nature is indeed true, then what seperates us with the Buddhas are simply our deluded minds!
I haven't watch the youtube but probably it is possible that one could gain enlightenment withint two hours. But I will say that two hours is the results of the past conditions that one has been exposed too.
Literally speaking, Buddha gained His enlightenment at that split moment where a shooting star dash across the dawn sky. But THAT moment is the accumulation of the various experiences and knowledge that Buddha has acquired prior to the meditation under the bodh tree.
So it will depend how the 2 hour is define.

All that we can see is that they've gained enlightenment in 'two hours'. But we don't know what happened before that.Originally posted by JonLS:There are 11 videos but only six are showing on this page.
