The Green Sachet sutra in chinese literature is a set of divination code on the
hexagram of the Eight talligram
I chanced upon someone who tries to read this and told him
"Green Satchet Sutra is a worldy literature , Reading Buddhist sutra would be better "
Fortune telling and divination of chinese literature is widely available and everyone thinks he/she can foretell his fortune .
however the divination of such books only true for 60 lifetimes ago ,but if 61st live ago , one is a merciless bandit who kills and plunder ,the karma of the such heinous action still can create obstacle in presents life
which is the boomerang theory ,the heavier karma is being ripen ,left the lighter karma like hurting people with rods will propel on and on .
No need till 61 lifetime , for me 60 is already too much to know liao . I don't think a karma you comitted 61 lifetime ago will still affect u after so many lifetime . Because many things can happen within 1 lifetime what for must stretch till 61 lifetime to take effect . Am person can be born into a bad family , made to suffer harsh realities beyond human imagination and lastly he/she can go either mad or die after some time to finish off his bad karma for maybe a few lifetime or if is so heavy might as well suffer in hell already then to have to drag his heavy sins for 61 lifetimes .
Hi all,
I have not heard about the Green Satchet Sutra before. But I think bodhruici made a good point. It is indeed possible that a kamma planted way beyond the 60 lifetimes could have come into effect at a much latter time. However this would have to depend on the conditions too.
Buddhists are not encouraged by the Buddha to seek divination. I think the main reason would be that the Buddha was worried buddhists would end up spending time seeking divinations rather than working on their lives. And probably, human just like to listen to the good words. If the divination turns out to bad, probably that person will end up wallowing his sufferings than to make his life better.
If reading Green Satchet Sutra just for pure knowledge, I think it doesn't matter. Since it is good that we learn a wide variety of subjects.
