this story is repeated many times
but I still want to repeat for all to ponder upon the importance of practise seriously
During the time of Buddha ,Buddha is under a Bodhi tree preparing to give teachings .He pointed to the ants crawling on the tree and said
"Now , tell me , how long have all this ants been ants "
the arhats went into meditation and could only answered its abt 84,000 kalpa the ants on the bodhi tree is ants
Buddha said ," since the 7 Buddha have born and Parinirvana in Saha World ,these ants have been ants .
Now 7 Buddha time is more than few billion kalpas
Can anyone understand the morale of this story ?
That it is tough to have human life
now counting 7 billion kalpa of ants life and no chance for Human
is that kind of "fortune " hearing the Holy Dharma rare .
but the pity is that one does not have the Human life to practise and attain enlightenment
Just as Buddha grabb a palm of sand one day and said
losing the human life is like the sand which isnt on His palm .
attaining the human life is like the sand in his palm
Moral of the story: better buck up in your practice lest death comes the next moment. And your opportunity to be a human being, meet the dharma and practice the dharma is gone.
