Hi guys, someone asked me where's the chatbox in this forum... well because it hasn't been active for quite sometime the previous chatbox has expired.
So this is the new chat box... enjoy!
p.s. if anyone has a better name for it can suggest also, then I change it :)

I suppose a chit-chat forum for Buddhism is also needed for us to have light discussions on non-Buddhism topics but with a Buddhism tint.For example, I have been meaning to chat about the movie "The Kingdom" but have not found an appropriate forum to do so. I can't do that in general chit chat forum....
Anyway, on the movie...The dialogue in last scene of the movie is very poignant. It is revealed that both the Americans and Abu-Hamza extremists comforted their respective bereaved that "We're going to kill them all!"
This calls to my mind Buddha's teaching in the Dhammapada that: "Hatred is never appeased by hatred in this world. By non-hatred alone is hatred appeased. This is a Law Eternal."

i hav so much to learn abt Buddhism teachings... but i will learn slowly...
recently so much things happened on me... make me really down... but when i thot of "everything is impermanent"... i think it's true...

watched Yu Dan..actually there is a website on all of the episode of bai jia lun tan..it is a online streaming site...
Its good to watch...as you will be more understanding in certain moral issue where you can apply in your daily life..especially at work...

Zhuang zi is a very interesting person..The points that Zhuangzi makes-
- everything is everything
- there is no good or bad, only thinking makes it so

But I have to add, the religion of taoism nowadays is very different. i.e. religious Taoism. As Longchen said before, "There is some similarities in the beginning as the Founders expound on certain fundamental truths.
But what the various religions have become is utterly different now."This is the same for ALL other religions including even Christianity. (the general Christianity, with exception of certain contemplative/mystical Christian groups which emphasize on self-realisation or rather in their terms realising union with god or ultimate reality)
With regards to religious Taoism IMHO there are many elements related to spirit mediumship etc which imho are best to be avoided... they are very different from the teachings of lao tzu, unrelated in that sense... but rather are dealings with spirit realm... and other related superstitions all brings us no closer to enlightenment and simply increases superstition, dependency and our affinity with the spirit/lower realms.
As my Master said Taoism starting from Zhang Tian Shi has deviated so much from the original teachings of Lao Tzu... it is not the 'Tao' that Lao Tzu is speaking of. Hope it doesn't offend anyone, just my honest opinion on these matters. :)

u know what,after zhuangzi's wife dead,he sing a song ,then his friend come by,then critisize him saying ,r u too over ,why u r singing ,u should be sad,but zhuangzi apparantly is open minded,he think death is only another residence of life.
one famous talk between zhuangzi and huizi is two of them seeing fish swimming in the pool ,then zhuangzi said the fish are free and happy ,then huizi said ,u r not the fish how u conclude the fish is happy,then zhuangzi replied u r not me ,how u conclude i don't know that the fish r not happy.
and zhuangzi always make fun of kongzi.

I think one of the interesting things about buddhism is that it isn't a set of philosophy i.e based on human's deduction and theories...
but rather based on observance and spoke of the truth about life..
