Needs help.
See's nothing but problems with the world, cannot not find his own content feeling.
Lost in this rat race, lead by material possesions which give short lived experiences that only boost the ego.
I want fufilling unified, loving, meaningful and spiritilistic experiences.
I want a life that has meaning.
I want to join a monastrey and find myself.
Understand the world as i am it and it is me.
Please help?
Hi Cris, I'm glad you see the suffering of your life. This is the first noble truth.
I'm also glad that you decide to do something about it. However, the monastery might not be the right place for you. If you cannot find peace in the secular world, how can you find peace elsewhere?
Go read more of Buddha's teachings before you decide further. Those teachings are your way to eternal happiness.
If you so decide to leave the secular world after reading the Dharma, then good luck, and best wishes! Metta.

Hi Cris, welcome to this forum :) I'm glad you're taking interest in Buddhism and I'm hopeful you will find what you are seeking for...
As other forummers suggest, you can start by reading some beginner books on dharma/Buddhist teachings and its practices. You mentioned you wish to join a Monastery... that is a good idea, perhaps you can look around for a Sangha.
Here's a directory for Buddhist centers in England: http://www.buddhanet.info/wbd/country.php?country_id=76 Which part of U.K do you stay in?
Hi, Chris,
As suggested by the above dhrama friends, you may approach some light books on buddhism or watch some DVD on the dharma talks...
I would also encourage you to stay positive in life and be optimistic, the suscess in life is within our attitude, positive and optimistic, though it is suffering and being in such suffering state, we must strenghten our mindset...keep yourself healthy always...simply to say...be as much contended as you are now, because there are many many people are more suffering than us, in such a way, you have greater faith in life, life is fragile but our mind cant be that fragile..
Stay cool and chill...
Btw I'm glad you're interested in these matters at a young age... (me too, I'm one year younger than you.. lol)
you are not lost. you just didnt see.

The good Buddhist will always remain young, having less trouble (煩惱) than other people. Just as I'm at the same age as AEN ... hee hee.
That aside, I hope Cris can update us on how he's doing.

Sometime, we get lost. Sometime, we feel spiritually-void. Throughout history of man, we always seems to be seeking for higher-meaning, knowledge and sometime, a purpose in life. I guess sometime, we are looking at the wrong direction for happiness. Does external objects determine the source of happiness ? Do we really need alot in order to be happy? Btw I do think Sinweiy 's thread on contentment is good.
