Initially while practicing mindfulness, awareness appears to be a sense of standing back and watching, that awareness is a watcher in an esoteric space untouched by 'external' arising and ceasing, later it appears that that all things appear IN awareness, and finally it is realised that the "thing arising and passing" itself IS Awareness. Then all duality collapses.

....A series of contemplations leads us gently but directly to see that our
essential nature is neither a body nor a mind. It is the conscious
Presence that is aware of this current experience. As such it is nothing
that can be experienced as an object and yet it is undeniably present.
However, these contemplations go much further than this. As we take our
stand knowingly as this conscious Presence that we always already are, and
reconsider the objects of the body, mind and world, we find that they do
not simply appear to this Presence, they appear within it. And further
exploration reveals that they do not simply appear within this Presence
but as this Presence.
Finally we are led to see that it is in fact this very Presence itself
that takes the shape of our experience from moment to moment whilst always
remaining only itself. We see that our experience is and has only ever
been one seamless totality with no separate entities, objects or parts
anywhere to be found...

However, this is still only the true experience of non-duality, but insight into Anatta and Emptiness/Dependent Origination is not spoken.

the good thing about standing behind the scene, watch things ceasing and arising, is that sometimes could ease your pain, then time longer enough, your mind could really be peaceful. Aware but not attached, yes
Awareness cannot ease your physical pain.
But when there is a release of the reference point, the centerpoint, the 'I', 'me', 'experiencer', one does not react as much to the physical sensations and cause more mental reactions and aversions and suffering.
Perhaps, Thusness and Longchen can elaborate?

Form is emptiness, emptiness is form.
Buddha is within ourself, we just need to realise ourself to gain enlightenment

i think psychological pain is always greater than physical, and i used suffering from toothache, but now even i don't bush my teeth quite often, my tooth no longer pain.
You know the human body is a whole, that's what chinese medicine think that way, so western medicine, usually when you feel stomackache, or headache, they will diagnose on your stomack or head, but chinese medicine is the other way round, they will check your lung, or liver. So i think pschological pain and physical pain are correlated

What is the relation of mountains and rivers to Buddha-nature?
All things arise from causes and conditions. Dependent origination also means relativity or "emptiness" because all things are what they are only in relation to other things. Since all things are dependent upon causes and conditions for their existence, they have no real nature of their own and so they are relative or "empty"

You cannot be 'he', as 'he' is the way to lead you, but in buddhism, the 'he' is only a teacher,'he' said you can be like him, to gain enlightenment and freed from kamic force...The teacher said, there are many heavens...so there are many'he' who manistify himself to our world to save sentinents...all are sentinents, be it who the 'he' we have faith in, its goal is relieve one from suffering..if the diciples act more sufferings to others, the 'he' could not lead you to the so call heaven, as no one could stop karmic force, except ourselves...

Very true. But that's still half the story. Someone, imo with deep insights, wrote this:
Well, you are right.
"Form is emptiness" is only half and its is easier to understand than "Emptiness is form".
Yes... to my limited understanding... emptiness is form is the presence of seeing that is inseparable from the seen and heard. Emptiness though not a thing possesses vivid presence. When hearing sound, there is just sound, no hearer. Just the sensations/sensing, no feeler, thoughts, but no thinker. But what is seen, heard, etc, are dependently arisen, an aggregate of cause and conditions that does not last even a moment, empty of any substantial existence/thingness, mere appearances. The splendor of the world is simply Mind/Buddha-Nature's display, luminous and empty.
Buddha:
..."When cognizing what is to be cognized, he doesn't construe an [object as] cognized. He doesn't construe an uncognized. He doesn't construe an [object] to-be-cognized. He doesn't construe a cognizer.
Thus, monks, the Tathagata — being the same with regard to all phenomena that can be seen, heard, sensed, & cognized — is 'Such.' And I tell you: There's no other 'Such' higher or more sublime...
Before study and practise zen, I saw mountains as mountains, and waters as waters.
When I arrived at a more intimate knowledge, I came to the point where I saw that mountains are not mountains, and waters are not waters.
But now that I have got its very substance I am at rest. For it's just that I see mountains once again as mountains, and waters once again as waters.
Can anybody explain above statements? If cannot explained, you still not enlightened.
The answer is:-
1st, we attached to Form, so we see mountain as mountain.
2nd, after we understand "no-self" or "emptiness", we no longer see mountain as mountain. Mountain is just accumulation of sand, stone, grass, trees, plants, etc...
3rd, upon enlightenment, mountain is just a manifestations of our Buddha Nature, thus, we see mountain as mountain again.
