As this economic crisis is the worst of the previous one ,I hope to share some ideas how to save up alot in case of retrenchment and hunting for jobs
1.Eat at Old Chang Kee
Spent $1.20 to buy a curry puff. This will alleviate the hunger for lunchtime
2.Alight 3 stops of Bus/Mrt and walk to the destination
This will save you $40 of bus fare..beside walking reduces the chances of Deep Thombosis which often occurs to sedentary working nature people and reduced stomach wind and bloatness
3.Cut down on watching television
Spent more time doing reading for self-improvement and meet friend for coffeeshop coffee
4.Encourage each one along
Keep the spirits high of friends being retrenched ,will reduced the moodiness in this festive time
Spread this few little tips and add more useful one along

# Cut down on unnecessary mobile phone usage. Hp are not invented for mindless and endless chit-chatting or gossiping. If u have to, try to limit them to 10 minutes, a day.
# Stop upgrading to another new Hp for a change.
# Cut down on canned juice, soft drinks or bottled mineral water at home. Drink plain water instead.
# Reduced your patronage to the movies theatre. Good movies usually only appear once a year, or more.
# Switch off all lights and sleep early. At least try to do that before mid-night. It is said to be good for the health ( so also save on medical fees in the long run). Many ppl are actually up on the street especially in the weekends past mid-night, doing nothing important.
# Give up your mid-night supper( if u sleep early, then this doesn't apply
).
I spend the most on transportation and food.
Thus i could
# cut down on cab fare
# eat cai png and avoid eating out too often.
# save 60% of my income into another bank account once i receive my paid.
# Sleep early and to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Go and take a full time course, 2 years later when you complete the course, the recession is over already, hopefully...
donate money to monk, charity and so on. Instead of struggling at the result, why not put more effort at the cause.
Be a smart consumer, use your actions to tell the merchants that you are only interested in things that you really need. For example:
-Use current handphone if it still working, one exception is mine, coz though working but reception not that clear. I will give it out free of charge by month end, those who one, can tell me.
-Unused stuff donate to charity, don't waste the resource.
-Cut down eating of junk food. Cut down the amount of food intake at night
-Do more walk, so no need to go gym
-Drop your attachment, then automatically you will know when you should and when you shouldn't spend.
If everyone do that, yes, the profit of some company will drop, but in long run it will benefit human kind as a whole, because less resource will be wasted on unnecessary usage.
