Those so called Buddhists who converted, are they Buddhist in the first place? Have they taken refuge in the Triple Gems (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha), do they know about Buddhist teachings, or are they simply Chinese folk tradition practitioners (i.e. those who worship Chinese deities... btw, Buddhists don't worship deities) who mistaken themselves to be 'Buddhist'? To be a Buddhist the minimum requirement is to first take refuge.
So far I have only read one story of a person who converted to Christianity after taking refuge in Buddhism. But her story shows she has very little understanding of Buddhism.
I have never met an ex-Buddhist. I have however met many people who converted from Christianity to Buddhism. My Buddhist master for one, was once a very pro-active Christian pastor who even wrote a book about the bible.
