Hi, I'm looking to join a Buddhist fellowship for young adults who just graduated from university. Just want to make friends who have the same interests and discuss Buddhism. Does anyone have any idea where I can do so? Cus I've searched online and so far the youth groups I've found seem to cater to teenagers. I'm afraid that I'm too old to join them :P thanks!!
oops. i'm not referring to groups which consist of uni students or uni grads only. just referring to the age group, i.e. 20 plus. thanks!
Hi,
i'd recommend the Buddhist Fellowship at Pasir Panjang. Whilst most of its members are in Sec, JC and Poly, there are also a few of them who are in Uni or grads. I'm 30 but i still join their activities. Don't consider yourself too old, you're never that old to join them!

dear bloo , to join any person who share same interest may be hard ,especially in this economic downturn
one shouldnt be too concerned with age group.I am 32 ,but i can still share ideas well with my counterpart who is 20 plus
On the other hand , some buddhist i find tends to be too egoistic in their approach .The minute u tell them want to have buddhist discussion ,they only have riot nature in their mind .This is very sick human nature
Who is who to dictate the superiority of Dharma teaching .
Well i see singapore is going thru a sick buddhism discussion group .
I am mahayana and i do have vajrayana and theravada fren
What i could not understand is some people have this "My dharma is better than all of yours" sick mentality
well , i just leave them alone ,since they not willing to discuss .
I agree Practice is totally a personal matter , but to help other people enlightened in the Path of Bodhi ,isnt that a act of Bodhisattva ?
Some people just read the sutra upside down .
I agree Tantric teaching should not be discussed ,but we Buddhist are the least united religion in Singapore ,see how bad is our unity compared to a MUIS or City Harvest Church

Guys please cool down , this thread is for pple to find a buddism group to know more about buddhism . Why are we " debating " here ? Everyone is entitled to their own views and thinking , lets not criticise each others thinking shall we ? Everyone have their own life experiences and so will have different views . We are not perfect , no matter how carefull we are we still make mistakes every now and then unknowingly .
Buddhism is not just for those who are well versed in english or any languages , we should also not just stick to how a person put his words . Cos not everyone are that good in expressing themself . Does all of Buddhas disciples have perfect linguistic skills ? And does the buddha criticise them for using wrong words ? Even if they do say it wrongly or say the wrong words , we just have to correct it for them and i believe they will be grateful to you too instead of pointing out that they have made a mistake in their words and asking them to correct it . Comeon its not a school here .
If anyone were to stick to their own views ? You can either try to correct it and ask them isn't that a better way of doing or you can always give them more time to understand dharma . The Buddha encourage pple to ask questions about his teachings rather then to believe it blindly . Its also a good thing to ask questions and to understand it fully then blind faith , for pple with blind faith can be easily " swayed " or " diverted " , while the one who have full understand not only wun be easilly " swayed " or " diverted " but he may even be able to let the other person knows what Buddhism is all about . Hmm think i'm getting lengthy .
Last but not least cool down guys , lets not " debate " here ( not nice for other pple to see also ) hehe . ![]()

Hi,
sorry for the late reply as i just came back from Hong Kong.
Erm, to tell the truth, i'm not really a very active member there because i'm in Japan studying most of the time. But basically it starts with a bit of chanting and then there's normally a talk followed by Q&A and chit-chat. On certain days of the month they also have outings and the like. The last outing 2 weeks ago was to Sentosa.
You can check out their website http://www.buddhistfellowship.org/

FGS has a camp for tertiary students or fresh graduate. You might want to consider it?
I think let's consolidate all these buddhist centres that has fellowship group and put it as a new topic.
Those with personal issues against each other should take their exchanges offline. It's awkward for those of us who dropped by this forum with a genuine interest on Buddhism.
Anger causes many regrets.

Ya. Next time any such conversation will be removed from forum. It should be done privately.
Let me be the last person who talk about this, full stop.

No need to wait for next time. You should just remove the posts from this thread now.
