Dear friends,
This is the first time I have signed a petition to show appreciation. Very interesting idea! I'll like to invite you to sign the petition too: "In Appreciation of Dharma Translators Worldwide" http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/dharmatranslation?e
A Dharma Translators conference is going to happen from 15-20 March, in the tiny village of Bir, somewhere on the Himalayas, attended by the most experienced Dharma translators and translation groups worldwide, including familiar names such as Gene Smith, Matthieu Ricard, Bob Thurman. It sounds like a great deal of fun, as well as a great deal of hard work.
The agenda includes topics such as initiating the full translation of the entire Buddhist canon, including the 108-volume Kangyur—the Buddha’s direct teachings that include many sutras never before translated into English.
There will be live blogging updates on the Conference. So check out the link regularly at: http://khyentsefoundation.org/
Join the facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/group.php?gid=59296950597 for more information on the conference, including the letters and notes written by HH Dalai Lama, Karmapa, HH Sakya Trizin Rinpoche, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche and Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche.
Finally, remember to sign the petition at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/dharmatranslation?e :)

"The survival of the Buddhadharma will depend on it being translated into other languages. The only way we can accomplish this is by working together, pooling our skills, resources, experience and energy and coming up with a plan."
(Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, explaining why he initated the Dharma Translation Conference)
