  What was the monasteries during the Buddha's time like? I bet it is different from the temples now? no incense offering isnt it?

  Buddha’s the founder of Buddhism. u mean Brahma or Hinduism temples? not even sure there's Brahma or Hinduism temples. thought they practice outside in the woods.

  Buddha dwelt at Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove in the Garden of the Benefactor of Orphans and the Forlorn. can read the beginning of Amitabha Sutra.

  that means during the Buddha's time, the monastery then were different to the monasteries now isnt it? I want to know how different between then and now?

  There are plenty. You may want to visit India to visit the four places linked to the Buddha's birth, enlightenment, first turning of the wheel of the dhamma and passing away.
