Tattoo.... Tibetan

Hi guys,
I know it sounds a bit stupid to ask this. Forgive me. Am wondering if it is an offence to put tibetan buddhism words or mandala (colorful) tattoo? Tibetan words would be for example - Om mani Padme Hum or just the Om word.
Anyone knows please advise....

I think the question should be.. U are putting just for fashion purpose or religion purpose.

for fashion purpose i guess...have always wanted to put some tattoo and deciding on the what to put... but reason why i choose tibetan mandala and the word "om" is i'm kinda attracted to the design and of cos buddhism teaching...no offence.. correct me if i had said something wrong..

I guess it's ok .. Not sure bout tibetan teaching but for thai chants there are some things u need to avoid.

thanks.... yeah i'm not putting those thai chanting... i have heard that we can't bring those buddhism book into bedroom and have to place in a high location.... so i was by thinking putting the mandala on my body and always go into bedroom will offend or not...

I don't think it's very skillful.
But you may want to consult a rinpoche for his opinion.

ah Midz, I won't question about the religious purpose but if someone is using an "Om" tattoo as a personal focus whenever a person is down, I don't think it is disrespectful as sex and abulations are part and parcel of human life.
