I know there are Buddhists in Singapore who have the same experiences and have video taped it. If you have, please share.
Some elderly Buddhists told me that these sightings are supposed to be hush hush thingy (天机泄), not allow to share with others. Some said it is ok to share. So who is correct ? If it is not allowed to share, why they are on website. I saw once myself but did not tape it down because I went unprepared.

"What is your religion?" someone asked me
"My religion is about inner reflection and world peace"
Such sightings if people cling to it , will give averse results to their practice .
Its all just pheonomenon and like a flash of lightning .
Buddha refuses to allow His Disciple to teach using Magical powers and miracles because He sees the attachment and damaging effects of such powers.
Once its gone , the follower will crave for more and forget about the samsaric problem we are facing .
You have to understand that your faith is not built on inspiration and seeking Magical powers
If that is so , Your belief in Buddhism is none other than those stubborn old ppl in Buddhist Lodge who keep hankering they seen Guanyin and shouting and yelling at people when ppl disagree with them.
Thats not a practise .thats Idol ,magical Worship .The real practice is nothing expected
Nothing expected ,even when u recite Amitabha .
keep seeing glimpse of Buddhaland but your daily practise is so emotional doesnt help you in the single bit toward Western Paradise
Such sightings are nothing unusual, they are all simply natural phenomenon. Humans have a tendency to try and make sense out of ordinary things...just think toasted bread with pictures of 'jesus' or tree barks that happened to be shaped like 'monkeys'
Nice video!
I am Buddhist-Taoist.

I agree with you. I understand what you mean because now I have a better understanding of Buddhism. However, these sightings help to build our confidence in Amitabha's pureland. I admit that I kind of clinging on to it, hoping I will see again the next time which is not very healthy right.
I shared my experience with my friends and a neighbour. They know me well that I am someone who don't lie about this kind of thing. They followed me to temple for chanting for the very first time after I told them what I saw. So it is not all bad when you share your experience. But I must learn not to cling on to it, still learning.

These phenomenon is not the same as what you said. They are no coincidence. Buddhists will know when they will happen. They will only happen after certain big chanting events or some well practiced Buddhist (eg. monks or layman) passed away.
Draw one small circle, you have the Buddha and the arahants inside, non returners, draw another circle outside , you have the once returners and keep on drawing circles until, you reach barbaric people who would sooner kill you than you insult the belief and intelligence.
When one professes faith, ie. Buddhism, one does not automatically become Buddha, depending on circumstances, one slowly grasp the noble truth, and the eightfold path. If one is an atheist, one comprehend from a view point of an atheist originally. If one practises monotheism or polytheism, that's where point of understanding start. How long have it taken to grasp Buddha's teachings? Personal convictions, everybody can form one. Do you intend to call people ignorant and stupid and have them at arm's length. Or do you wish to engage them with skillfull means?

It is your optical pheonomenon, not mine. There are many Buddhists including myself who had seen it.. We saw clouds changed colours, speed was comparable to firework. (That was after a big chanting event.). Anyway, there is no need to convince you. You can always choose not to believe because no one cares.
My purpose of putting these up is for Buddhists to enhance their confidence in Amitabha's pureland.

People half the world away who can see the sun can see the halo when it appears. It can even appear at night around the full moon! It's not my optical phenomenon, it can be explained with science.
You won't be hearing the last from me yet. Just to let you taste a dose of your own medicine.![]()

One only needs to go swimming without goggles for a couple of hours and one can will see halos around the sun or lamps.
But it will not have the sense of inspiration and awe achieved one perceives after intense prayers and chanting

The other, is to simply marvel the manifestation of beauty and wonderment in front of our eyes, and that it may inspire us to think and do positive things!
I understand very well that by seeing the pheonomenon and believing it do not guarantee me a place in Amitabha's pureland. It is only through practicing that I will have a chance. Thus, these sightings are only encouraging us to practice hard. I am just a beginner.
To those unbelievers, no need to tell me that you don't believe because Buddhism is a religion for you to practice not for you to believe.
May buddha bless you with good health and safety.

Since you did'n join the fray in EH, I'll be courteous with you.
Anyone can see it with naked eyes when it appears. It's not that bright like the eclipse. It won't damage the eyes if you don't stare directly at the sun. It can also occur at night when there's full moon, like this!

25. Adoration of Relics
“The Blessed One said, ‘Do not hinder yourselves, Ä€nanda, with honouring the remains of theTathÄgata15 Yet on the other hand he said, ‘Honour the relics of him who is worthy of honour, acting in that way you will go from this world to heaven.’16 Which of these statements is right?”
“It was not to all men, O king, but to the sons of the conqueror17 that the first advice was given. Paying reverence to relics is not their work, but rather grasping the true nature of all formations, wise attention [paying attention to impermanence etc.], insight meditation, getting hold of the essence of the meditation object, fighting the defilements, devotion to their own spiritual welfare, that is the work of the monks. Paying homage to relics should be done by others. Just, O king, as it is the business of princes to learn the arts of warfare and the laws of property while husbandry, trading and care of cattle are the business of householders.”
Once a man climbed the mountains, and after much effort and many hardships, like preparations, crossing rivers and climbing and more climbing, that he reached the summit. Dead tired, he gazed at the rising sun as it climbs over the horizon, and as he watched, tears flowed from his eyes, the beautiful sight after the long ordeal. Now, back to the ordinary world, he recounted the moment as the sun rises; "Chay!!!" Someone exclaimed"If you want to see the sun rise, you can see it everyday at the back of my flat!"

After doing the positive things in EH, you can become an earthworm, at best!
