Meaning...when one's thought, it thought anyhow run?
Calm, how can the water be calm?
With the slightest breeze or a falling leaf.
We live in an interconnected world, we can't detached from emotion.
Sometime, if you are free and not in a rush, sit in a relaxed manner. Examine or listen to your own thoughts and the body reaction to the thoughts.
Some days you are happy, some days you are angry, some day you are neither.
Explore the difference in your mind. Slowly, you realise your thoughts, your emotions and your habit or reaction of becoming angry. When they are not lumped together, we can dealing with your anger.
For the moment, whenever anger stirs in your mind, pay attention to it, and say "I am angry, I am angry" and breath in deeply, slowing down your breath. Don't suppress you anger, for the anger will no go away, only hidden, only to later unleashed on somebody or something else!
Later when you have time, reflect on your anger, what made you so angry, the issue or your habit reacting to unhappy turn of events?

Practise to till a point where events cannot trigger emotions or allow people to push your buttons! Buddhism has the most excellent way of extinguishing emotions ! Especially anger! Learn and understand "I' or "self", and you are slowly on your way to the non arising of emotions!
Till then, manage your anger or harness it.
There are 2 types of thoughts that control our mind.
1 is angel, giving good advice.
The other is satan, giving bad advice.

I think I have both angel and satan in me. It is only the matter of who wins the battle.

Everyone of us has. If we only have either one of them then we will either be in heavens or hell.

And also that you have taken an interest in others' faith, made comments, often snide remarks which you deemed appropriate to no only to you but others' self.
So would you would be kind as to relate your views of your own self?
I am myself to myself. I make snide comments but then again such comments are truthful to myself.

And your basis of truth, although you feel or felt much, but the rationale and wisdom behind your truth is often lacking. All I can say at the moment you have strong convictions without the foundation of examination. You are always reacting strongly, against Buddhism or someone, you tell me!

Shouldn't it be like this:-
the first is an impulse response, subject to emotion.
The second more deliberate, given to consider consequences of one's action of acting impulsively.
We get frustrated when we have to suppress our impulses!

My friends and I wonder why being a Buddhist must always be on the losing end by enduring others' unreasonable behaviour. As a Buddhist, my principle is I don't bully others but at the same time not to be bullied by others. However, the monks said this is also not correct.
My friends said the best is not to tell others that we are Buddhists so we can retaliate without being criticised. I think this is also not correct because Buddha knows.
I tried to practise no 'I' concept but not consistent, sometimes I convinced myself there is no 'self', sometimes unable to.
Now I understand why In the olden days, the monks had to retreat into mountains or temples to practice Buddhism.
became the X-men and seek power from them
CONTROLS THOUGHTS OF KFC COUNTER GAL TO GIMME ME MORE CHICKEN.INSTEAD OF 3 PIECES..SHE WILL GIMME 10 PIECES INSTEAD!
In opnion, it is possible, but rather than control, to watch your thought. To those who read the abidhamma, thought can be consider as a porcess, such as 17 process. But I perfer to refer it to be a train (24 number of carriage with a gap in between) or a 24 frame per second movies on the flim (with gap between each frame)
By practicing mindfulness, one is able to be aware of his thought, to the extend of slowing down on his thought, thus widening the the gap between each frame, giving them that time to consider the course of action for his thought.
that is my experience.

Sometimes I would control my actions and speech when the incident happened, but when I reached home, the more I thought of it, the more unsatisfied and unhappy I was because I was thinking why should I give in, it was not fair to me. Thus, to overcome these thoughts is to master the skill of no 'I' and no 'self' which is not easy, I think it takes years to practice.
