It is with greatest delight and heartfelt joy that we announce the bestowal of the Künzang Gongpa Zangthal transmissions at Lotus Garden in fall 2010 by Kyabje Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche. The bestowal of these immeasurably profound and rare teachings is a truly fortunate event. It is surely due to the blessings of The Three Rare and Sublime Ones and the ripening of the gathered merits and aspirations of many lifetimes that we will have the incomparable privilege of receiving these precious transmissions.
Künzang Gongpa Zangthal (kun bzang dgongs pa zang thal), meaning 'Showing Directly the Realization of Samantabhadra,' is a complete set of Mahasandhi instructions, from the preliminary level up to thögal practices. It is the highest Dzogchen teachings of the Northern Treasures tradition and is renowned throughout Tibet as one of the three most supreme Dzogchen transmissions along with Nyingthig Yabzhi and Ati Zabdön Nyingpo. It was revealed by the great tertön Rigdzin Gödem (1337-1408) who was one of the three foremost tertöns who were emanations of Guru Padmasambhava himself.
The dates set for the bestowal of these profound transmissions are from August 27th to 12th September, 2010. Kyabje Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche has most graciously agreed to transmit the entire wang (abhishekas) and lung (reading transmissions) of Künzang Gongpa Zangthal. Kyabje Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche is not only one of the greatest living Nyingma masters teaching today but also one of the principal lineage holders of the Jangter or the Northern Treasures. And as such, the Künzang Gongpa Zangthal teachings are the very essence of his very own lineage the renowned tradition of the Northern Treasures.
