when a person have an unusual and extreme wish, when they come into contact with the spirit, they will actually form a contract with it... and as times goes by, they will slowly lose pieces of themselves and finally when they lose everything, the crab will take possession of the person...
I've tried searching for the web but I cant seem to find any reference to it but I'm sure I read of it somewhere b4...
maybe this was the case?

Very interesting video. Perhaps it goes to prove that there are various planes of existence in this universe. When one is unable to see it with the human eyes, it does not imply that it is not there . I think one needs to BELIEVE, PRACTISE AND LEARN the buddha dharma. We do not need to speculate if the interference is of the negative spirit. However, if it happen to cross our practice path then we just need to deal with it in a COMPASSIONATE way. I remember once a young man seek help from my temple pal because someone put a gong tau (thai black magic)on him. My pal just explain the Buddha dharma to him and follow with the Lotus Sutra recitation and chanting Namu My�h� Renge Ky� (�無妙法蓮�經). During the chanting, he react with vomitting and headache whenever my pal hit the Buddhist bell. Later, the young man explain that to the normal people hitting the bell it just a simply act of sound vibration. However, at that moment it create a lot of pains in his body and through the practice he was set free. According to the Chapter 26 Lotus Sutra, when one practise the Buddha dharma, the protective deities will be there to shield and protect us from all spirit's harm. "........, they will never trouble the teachers of the Law! Whether it be a yaksha, or a pakshasa, or a hungry spirit, or a putana, or a kritya, or a vetada, or a skanda , or an umaraka, or an apasmaraka, or a yaksha kritya, or a human kritya, or a fever, a one day, a two day, a three day, or a four day, or up to a seven day or a constant fever, whether it be in a man's form, in a woman's form, in young boy's form, in young girl's form, though it be only in a dream, it will never trouble them!....... After the rakshasa daughters had spoken these verses, they said to the Buddha, "World-Honored One, we will use our own bodies to shield and guard those who accept, uphold, read, recite, and practice this sutra. We will see that they gain peace and tranquility, freeing them from decline and harm and nulling the effect of all poison herbs. The Buddha said to the rakshasa daughters, "Excellent, excellent! If you can shield and guard those who accept and uphold the mere name of the Lotus Sutra, your merit will be immeasurable" Hence guys let us rest assured on Buddha promises and practise hard. Buddha is not a liar!

Share with you guys a story about a haunted house which my neighbour had just told me. She told me her sister-in-law had lived with a spirit in her house for years. She knew the spirit was in her house when she first shifted in, she told the spirit not to disturb her family and lived together peacefully for years. She sold her house after staying for many years.
There was once she met her neighbour and during the conversation she realised that her neighbour had also sold his house because the spirit which was in her house had moved to her neighbour's house. She suspected the new owner of her house had done some prayers and cleansed the house and the spirit was chased out of the house. This is the first time I heard spirit also shift house ha ha ha.................. I think her sister-in-law was very brave to co-exist with the spirit for many years. I don't think I can do that.

Thanks and grateful for the sharing of new age and spiritual influencing and interferences that are very common. Personally, I have an encounter with new age in a big scale Buddhism event, new age does not know Buddha nature and therefore their perspective and approach are naturally not as wholesome loving kindness.
Practitioners should not shun away from them but be grateful from their interference to iron the inequality in us. However, one's ought to deeply understand the Buddha nature or enlightened one of all sentient biengs so as to awaken from the loving kindness of their interference.
It is also very heartening to learnt that the crab spirits was assisted by the monks and nuns and that monks and nuns came forward to share their insight with this spirit. 广化法师also has the same personal experience and more severe attacks - pse refer to the link below.
Spirits or ghost are by nature ourselves. When these spirits and ghosts were human, they have friend and loved ones as well. No one fearful of them, so practitioners ought not to afraid of them. As this spirits and ghosts have an intrinsic loving kindness in them as like Buddha, they would listen from true heart of sharing loving kindness.

Apparently, spirit does not harm human. It is best to play dharma talks and sutra chanting in the house with spirit. They will listen and gradually be liberated from the lecture given.

I think who is the founder of New Age is not an issue. Buddhism is to practice on the path of enlightenment, taking care of our loving kindness thoughts and action. Besides, new age is also contributing to well being of mankind. Buddhism is about transforming our deeds into pureness by not having unkindness thoughts and attained supremeness.

this is my first time ever hearing a crab spirit possessing a human being. were there previous stories of animals possessing humans, like whales being speared by fishermen, elephants being killed for their tusks and sharks killed for their fins?

May be you should read the last post at page 2 from ^^Acid^^. I've heard Buddhists specially told me not to eat crabs but they did not tell me why. I do not know what so special about crabs.

If ghost can possess people, and a person believe in rebirth, then naturally there is nothing wrong with the video. A animal can die and become a ghost, and a ghost can possess people.
