Taking Refuge in Triple Gems without the label

  6th Patriarch Hui Neng gave a different meaning to the Taking Refuge of Triple Gems. He advocated the Taking Refuge of Triple Gems of your True nature. 皈�觉正净.

   

  å”�æœ�时代的禅宗六祖惠能大师唯æ��å�Žäººå¯¹‘皈ä¾�三å®�’的误解，特别在å�›ç»�讲解并传授三皈ä¾�，他ä¸�是讲归ä¾�ä½›ã€�å½’ä¾�法ã€�å½’ä¾�僧，而是è¦�我们归ä¾�‘自性三å®�’，盖以‘ä½›’者，觉也；‘法’者，正也；‘僧’者，净也。六祖对归ä¾�自性三å®�的解释为：‘自心归ä¾�“觉”，邪迷ä¸�生，少欲知足，能离财色，å��两足尊’ï¼›‘自心归ä¾�“æ­£”，念念无邪è§�，以无邪è§�故，å�³æ— äººæˆ‘贡高ã€�贪爱执著，å��离欲尊’ï¼›‘自心归ä¾�“净”，一切尘劳爱欲境界，自性皆ä¸�染著，å��众中尊’。由上å�¯çŸ¥ï¼Œå…­ç¥–所传授的皈ä¾�，乃是è¦�我们皈ä¾�‘自心三å®�’，亦å�³‘内调心性，外敬他人’，‘常è§�自己过，ä¸�说他人好æ�¶’，‘常须下心，普行æ�­æ•¬’，方å��真正的‘自皈ä¾�’也。
  

  Taking Refuge

   

  To the Buddha I return and rely, returning from delusions and relying upon Awareness and Understanding.

   

  To the Dharma I return and rely, returning from erroneous views and relying upon Proper Views and Understanding.

   

  To the Sangha I return and rely, returning from pollutions and disharmony and relying upon Purity of Mind and the Six Principles of Living in Harmony.

  少欲知足

  欲 - According to 佛教法相唯识学 that simply explains on the sixth alay consciousness on æ¬² :
  欲 is from the formation of è°· and 欠. è°· is the formation of 2 humans over one another and beneath it is a mouth. On its right is 欠 means  欠债. The exegesis is two people having the same mouth fighting over one meal because they failed to realize their causality of past, present and future in one's alaya consciousness mind. As such, taking Refuge of Triple Gems of your True nature would eradicate the ignorance of doubt on one Buddhahood and elicits unsurpassed joys and peace
