Hi All,
My friends and I wish to print Buddhist Books for beginners and free thinkers who are interested in Buddhism. Which book will you guys suggest ? Preferably simple, interesting, with pictures will be great.
By the way, anyone who wish to have free new ä½›ç , please let me know. Currently, I have 18 for free distribution.
Thanks.
Though I'm not against Di Zi Gui but I will not print Di Zi Gui.
i'm no expert on buddhism at all but why don't you print the Diamond Sutra ?
there's a translation at Diamond-Sutra.com by a English guy that's very easy to read and understand.......................without all the usual Sanskrit names and jargon.........
my all time favourite is Be a Lamp Upon Yourself
http://www.dhammaweb.net/books/Lamp.pdf
for beginners.

I went to Diamond-Sutra.com but could not find what you mentioned. If you have the time, can you link it for me at the forum. Thanks.

This book looks good. Any idea is there also a Chinese version ? The last time we printed å› æžœç», many non Buddhists like it. Some even voluntarily asked for a copy when they heard that we were distributing it. I thought of printing it again but my friend thought of printing something different.
The one we had printed was in both Chinese and English into 1 book with pictures. We distributed 100 copies within 20 min. The response was good. This round there is a big sponsor but he is not so keen on å› æžœç». What do you think of å› æžœç» for beginners and non Buddhists ?
yes, it's <点亮心>. i found it in Spore Buddhist Lodge.
since he's not so keen on å› æžœç», then it's other options...
å› æžœç» is it ä¸‰ä¸–å› æžœç»?
i heard the ä¸‰ä¸–å› æžœç» not that "mainstream".
regarding å› æžœ not sure there's a printed book on the å› ç¼˜æžœæŠ¥ consolidated by Great Ven Hai Tao 海涛法师选辑

btw, other than books, u all do audio cds?

if we don't use 太上感应篇 for 190++ stories of cause and effect, i highly recommend
çŽ°ä»£å› æžœå®žå½• Modern records of cause and effect.

49(?) stories of cause and effect. BEST!

I am already printing Diamond Sutra for free distribution. You can divert your resources to printing other Buddhist publications.
Try to make the booklet in good quality so that the person who recieves it will treasure it.

We printed å› æžœç» and not ä¸‰ä¸–å› æžœç». Just curious, why ä¸‰ä¸–å› æžœç»is not that mainstream ?
We also do CD but it is 观世音è©è¨åœ£å·. I thought of doing Amitabha but do you know what kind of response I got from non Buddhist ? They told me they are afraid to on Amitabha because they used to hear it at the funeral. It is difficult to explain to them that 阿弥陀佛也是念给活人å¬çš„,ä¸åªæ˜¯ç»™æ»äººå¬çš„. I told them I on Amitabha during Chinese New Year. Sigh..............

Yes, Buddhist books for children ... I am also trying to pool my resources to print it in Taiwan in top quality but having problems with english ones as my printer requires me to print very large quantity and yet not many children needs english children buddhist books in Taiwan. The sutras you all recieve are mailed our straight from my printer in Taiwan.
Buddhist books for children!
For once i see eye to eye with weychin.
Amituofo for that ~
I picked up a book recently, on Buddhism for Beginners published by PKS monastery. Not bad, quite informative though haven't gone thru it thoroughly.
I have a book that is quite good. Called "Happiness and Suffering" by Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche. It addresses many modern people problems. If you printing for free, i think the author may be willing to allow... (i have in Chinese Traditional characters as well as English but Chinese is more accurate. English needs more editting...)
PM me if interested.
the in-authentic version of karma sutra is known as "Buddha speaks of the three peroids cause and efffect sutra" ä½›è¯´ä¸‰ä¸–å› æžœç»。Aen is right.
Wisdom eye. that book from pks is excellent too and very nice and attractive cover page.

http://www.diamond-sutra.com/
maybe you have to summarize a bit........................still a bit long-winded..............

that book was actually the hardwork of a commitee of Buddhists back in the 1970s, when the official textbook which i used for my religious studies back in my sec sch days, this book might be good here in taiwan, i think.
but the cover definetly changed alot from the LOTUS we had back in the olden days. Much more attractive now!
Thanks guys for your reply. I don't think this round I will be printing books for children because the place we are going to distribute to are all adults. May be next round. By the way, besides Di Zi Gui (non Buddhist books), what are the Buddhist books (title) suitable for children ? I don't think I know any.
Oh dear, I wonder the one I'd printed and distributed was authentic. Hope it is not the one which you guys had mentioned. The one I'd printed titled "å› æžœ".
