They have no connection with Buddhism whatsoever.
Imagine a new age cult claiming to be following Jesus, but not only that, also Mohammad, Buddha, Lao Tzu, etc.
Then they teach that their priest only need to do something on your forehead and you will go to heaven.
And they teach that if you reveal their secret mantra, you will be struck by lightning and die.
Fear-based cult. They create their own 'sutra' on Maitreya which has nothing to do with Buddhism. They believe their founder is Maitreya.
Maitreya is a common theme in cults as it has a somewhat similar connotation with 'Messiah, second coming' as with Christianity. In Buddhism, we see Maitreya as the future Buddha.
ic...cos they tok abt past lives, karma n rebirth...i visited them once they had guanyin, buddha among their deities...paardon me for being direct. doesnt buddhism teach judgment like getting struck by lightning if u do sth wrong? I could be wrong n if u are offended, i apologise...
They create their own religion and doctrines and 'steal' from all the religions. i.e. they gather some ideas from Buddhism, some from Christianity, some from Hinduism, Taoism, etc.
No, actually Buddhism does Not teach judgement. We teach karma, karma is a natural law playing out by cause and effect and is not being judged by a God - and nobody ever said anything about lightning strike.
i suspect its more like they have their own beliefs then they search the diff religions for scriptures to back up their beliefs...the entire ''religion'' is based on the jade emperor imparting diff sets of teachings to diff disciples who then imparted them to their respective followers...tats wad i have understood...they do believe in creator god but its a she...
I see... Jade Emperor is a Chinese/Taoist god... though some Buddhist may try to link it to the Buddhist deva Indra. In any case, Buddhism does not teach a creator God and even Indra is simply a king of a particular level of heaven - not creator. We don't worship gods
My Buddhist master accuses Yi Kuan Dao of 'stealing' from religions if I remember correctly.
hmm...a verse they quote from bible is the one jesus said I am the way, the truth and the light...they interpret the way as the Tao...but their belief is as long u belong to any of the 5 major religions namely: Islam, Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity and Hinduism, u are on ur way to attaining that ''yuan fen'' to heaven...but it may not happen in this lifetime...

Yes they have their own universalist kind of ideas.
But a real Buddhist does not aim to attain a samsaric rebirth in heaven, we aim to attain Nirvana. It can be attained in this life, it is not an afterlife state.
