I wonder is there any relationship between job and one's karma? Because I never seem to get a more decent job where there are not so much politics and where one's hard work is being recognised and rewarded. In essence, a less complicated environment. I just feel daunted if I were to change to another job environment, knowing that the same vicious cycle is going to happen again.
Anyway, I am thinking of resigning but is afraid that I couldn't get a job. What should I be cutivating in my mindstream in order for me to be able to find a job coupled with a better working environment?
Best Rgds
Hi Verdandis,
not sure if my advice might help. I think it's best to soldier on the difficulties... it may make you better resilient to challenges... but if you think u can't change, why not find another job that suit your personality...?
hope that may not link everything back to karma... especially when you have the ability to change for the better...
take care
There are three philosophies which are considered by Buddhism to be wrong view and which must be carefully distinguished from the teaching of kamma:
1. Pubbekatahetuvada: The belief that all happiness and suffering arise from previous kamma (Past-action determinism).
2. Issaranimmanahetuvada: The belief that all happiness and suffering are caused by the directives of a Supreme Being (Theistic determinism).
3. Ahetu-apaccayavada: The belief that all happiness and suffering are random, having no cause (Indeterminism or Accidentalism). http://www.buddhanet.net/cmdsg/kamma6.htm#Beliefs

i think have to go back to basic of 4NT:- the Cause of dissatisfaction, "mostly discontent". Also have to understanding non-self. don't every time, me, me, me. then practice the 'Path leading to the End of Suffering and The Noble Eightfold Path. '
office politics, normally don't get involve. do your own part. don't be nosy. always treat all others equally, be friendly, be non-Hypocrisy, non-motive and non harming attitude. so when they see u are no threat, they will also treat you back with non harming attitude.
change yourself, your mind set, you will also change the enviroment. if not, the shadow keep following you. see thru, let go.

I am also hunting for a job that i love. Work-life balance coupled with a conducive environment is important to me.
A few months ago, i was also thinking a similar questions. I believe that there is a certain karma involved. Some people can easily succeed in life. Some people receive support easily from others. etc etc
Anyway, instead of brooding what had happened in the past, we can change for the better... do good, avoid evil, practice meditation right now.
there is a shoes store in the Jurong market run by a family from China Putians that we frequented given us a real story here: the Putian/Hokkien mother/owner of the store's daughter age 23 after graduated from SG POLY interior design course worked 6 months in the same industry with many long hours OT..for S$1,600/mth salary.. upon advise by her relatives from Fujian, she applied a counter staff job in the Bank of China here in SG to beat other SG candidates without the Fujian speaking background easily n got the job which pays her S$3100/mth, her mother is so happy to tell this real ordeal to her customers.. Dear SingaPOOReans..do u c the moral of the story here...?
Thank you all. I will try my best and not to accumulate more negative karma that hinders my job progression.
worry is ppl that are older and no more energy like younger people, who still can job hop.
advantage of sticking to one job is one can be very familar with the skill, that it become a specialization. disadvantage could be, one could be digging on the wrong hole and never get to the water or reward underneath.

Hi Nyorai, it's heavy reading stuff and I'm not sure how it links to my current state of mind relating to my job. Any simpler and shorter version? Thanks
