There are different degrees of enlightenment. Generally after deep insights you will have increasing dispassion. You notice your afflictions lessen and no longer arise much. But as for complete dispassion, only arahants are completely without passions.
Experience becomes direct, immediate, gapless, vivid, releasing, blissful, etc. Experiencing without imputing 'I' and 'mine' is very liberating indeed.
Imagine carrying a 20kg load for 20km and putting it down.
When you are able to fearlessly release, open up and embrace all dharmas that manifest via dependent origination without an embracer and without a trace of self, it is blissful and liberating.
After perfect enlightenment then what ? Will I be free from the cycles of birth & death ? How do I know that I have reached enlightenment at all ? I felt peaceful after meditation...sometimes for a few days....is that somekind of enlightenment? A temporary one?
