Earlier, a friend showed me a picture of some words he saw and asked me what it was. They were "大悲咒", I told him that it was the great compassion mantra in english and that it was a buddhist teaching. Later, I stared worrying if I got it wrong and wondered if I had created bad karma.
I would like to ask, so many of you give advice and answer questions about buddhism, how should I stop worrying about answering wrongly.
I would like to stop worrying about creating bad karma, especially since I always give the correct answer to the best of my knowledge. Should I avoid answering such questions in the future?
What you said was correct, da bei zhou is great compassion mantra.
If you are really not sure, you can tell them you will help them check first before answering them.
Thanks for the reply, I feel better. :)
Hello.
Sorry. I hope I did not side-track from the main topic.
I would like to enquire whether if I happened to know partial truth about a certain matter and someone would to ask me about it.
Will I be penalised by karma system if I say word like 'no comment'?
By the way, what will be Buddhism stands be on passing assumptious statement about a certain matter?
Thank you.
You will not gain unwholesome karma if you do not comment on things you are not completely sure. You will gain unwholesome karma if you utter false statements intentionally.
IMO expressing opinion is fine as long as you state it as so, i.e. it is just your opinion and you are not completely sure.
