There are 3 streams of Buddhism, Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana (lately i've discovered Narayana the human vehicle and Devayana the heavenly vehicle, funny how no one gives much attention to these two, but human vehicle is more well known than heavenly vehicle). Theravada (teachings of the elders) is mainly about self liberation, Mahayana (large vehicle Buddhism, and they like to call the theravada people as "hinayana", meaning small vehicle) is about liberating everyone together, while Vajrayana is about tantras and other secret teachings taught by the Buddha to the more high capacity people.Originally posted by 01024G:Hope i won't pollute this place with my signature.
What's the difference between da cheng jing tu zhong and nan chuan xiao cheng fo jiao (thai buddism)?
Would like to add something. There are four seals for every authentic buddhist scripture irregardless of the 4 schools.Originally posted by Xabir:but basically, all authentic buddhist scriptures never leave the 3 Dhamma Seals:
1) Impermanence
2) Non-self
3) Nirvana
