I'll be going too.
but when I wanted to sign up, they said that the fun run was 'out of stock'.
so have to pay $5 extra to take part in the competitive category..

think the run was ok. the route was relatively easy. the weather was not too hot (compared to last week's real run). but yeah, the logistics was horrible! no water before the run started. not enough water during the run! and no isotonic drinks at all! sigh... -
speaking of desert points.. saw a lot of ppl (esp the old folk) almost concussed and resting at the bus stops. think they din expect no water points.. can't believe they din even had a water point at the finishing !!
(except until you get the goody bag)
but the t-shirt was nice rite? at least no sponsors logo splahed all over the shirt. -
It was the worst running event i ever experienced in Yr 2005. Last year this event and Tuas 2nd Link were on par with each other being the worst.
The water issue(desert point) is too much
quite a few folks pengsan along the way, if you have notice. Folks are literally picking up "used" water bottle on the floor to quench their thirst. Though i didnt see it happening, but i read on on other forum it did. I happen to hear the conversation along the route though.
Traffic lights stopping are another incidents which should not happen again- In any public runs. I was stopped 3 times. My friend(female) stopped 3 times and still came in top 10. If you are the top runners and kena stopped at the lights, what else could not happen?
Water points are there(start point and 3 other along the routes), but those backpackers like us reached, it was already no more. queueing up 5mins with mouth open wide wide for the goodies bag(water) is not good enough.
Will rethink any event organised from Mizuno from onwards. -

yeah.. i can forgive anything, but lack of water is really like !!!
was it the same last year? if it was, then i'm quite surprised people still went for it.
the other point was traffic control - especially where it was close to the U-turn point. there was no proper point of crossing. runners were just running across the road on their own fancy, with traffic coming from behind!
these are hallmarks of lack of planning. hope they will learn some lessons from this event. -

What can i say about such event? Better dont take part in the future. Not really worth it(except for the T-shirt)
hmmm....that is the reason i participate as fun runners and carried my own water and camera(to take those ugly shots).
