"Wah!! You wanna attend? ok ok you be my witness at ROM ok, then take pics for us... then later when wedding dinner coming, you help me organise, you go dress shopping with me, help me get this, that and the other, yadda-yadda-yadda". See whether she'll ever ask you again! lol!
Maybe u'r not, but "she" might b actively looking ard?Originally posted by the Bear:just a thought... how would we know if that someone appears one day?
especially if we're not really actively looking around?

the last single friend of my age group is getting ROM in June.Originally posted by Imperfect:I am in my late twenties n will enter 30 soon...
Have been asked when is my turn ever since my brother got married... esp this month, when 2/3 of fellow colleauge got married and younger sis got ROM... every wedding dinner, pple start to ask, eh when is ur turn? I am waiting for urs leh...
I voice out my idea that I am not actively looking for one, coz i believe that by knowing everyone ard me as frds, the one that can really attract me will appear. However, pple refute back, not looking? waiting to drop from sky? Makes me wonder if my idea is not workable... but i will still stick with it.
I agreed with what Rhonda has said abt why pple in late 20s or 30s are still single. Majority are due to failures in past relationships which they spend time investing. However, there are those that were shy or passive or too occupied with other things in life and nv got into any b4.
Y'know, I kinda feel sorry for that poor chap. He was probably just being himself and meant no harm but yet, this lady came in with all the expectations heaped on him and he just didn't know what was expected of him.Originally posted by littlestream:Yeah, too caught up with career, then make all that $$$, either no one to spend/enjoy with or don't know how to be boyfriend/lover. Not generalising here but just want to share this gossip.
My friend was an investment adviser. She's got this client, male, single at 50, tons of money. Strangely, she gets all these request from her clients if she can matchmake. Anyways, there was another client. Female, single at 36. So, my friend hook them up.
This guy ah. Not very good with "cho lang" (be people). On Valentine's Day, the lady went to his house. She was disappointed, no flowers, no chocholates. So, she asked "how come no chocolates?". He replied "want chocolates ah?". He went to the fridge and then hand her a box of opened, spent, left-over chocolates!!!Sure she picked a fight.
Okay fine. Then she got over it. 2nd episode coming. Her car was parked next to his on his driveway. He went out to wash his car but only HIS car. He didn't wash hers. Not to be taken for granted but if gentlmenly, can offer to wash hers also, right?
Anways, that put an end to their one month "friendship".![]()
Hmm... X-men, just wondering about that last sentence of yours.Originally posted by X-men:the last single friend of my age group is getting ROM in June.
like u, many ppl have asked me, have wanted to introduce gals to me, I have been to a few house parties, my social circle is so big that my wallet is drying out so fast that I don't even carry a wallet liao ( I carry card holder)
pressure.. pressure....
NOPEbecause finding someone to share the rest of yr life is not like buying things. If you are not ready... don't.
Now..... I am NOT ready.
and of course I got a curse'those I like, don't like me or attached.... those I wanted just as friends.... shows interest.... sigh'
Yeap, I agree with you, Rhonda. There's always two sides or approach isn't it? While he may not appear to be a romantic buff, I heard he was willing to part or loan the lady C$20k (and that, to me is a lot of money).Originally posted by Rhonda:Y'know, I kinda feel sorry for that poor chap. He was probably just being himself and meant no harm but yet, this lady came in with all the expectations heaped on him and he just didn't know what was expected of him.Guys like that probably never had that many relationships in the first place so they're not so erm... 'polished' and suave.
Maybe she should have told him straight out, 'It would have made me feel so warm and fuzzy inside if you had at least volunteered to wash my car as well because that would show that you were thinking of me too!'. Clue him in on what would have made her day. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to oblige because well, if he liked her, he would have done anything to make her happy.
Ah well, being 'gentlemanly' is not an inborn trait... sometimes, the lady has to take the initiative to point the special guy in her life the 'gentlemanly' way to melt her heart and seal his position in her life.
Hey.....I like this statement........but I am not the brown package (hee hee)Originally posted by Rhonda:I guess sometimes, the boring brown packages hide the best presents! In contrast, the gaudily-decorated, attractively-wrapped packages do not necessarily hold the best gifts!
I guess that was his way of showing love.Originally posted by littlestream:Yeap, I agree with you, Rhonda. There's always two sides or approach isn't it? While he may not appear to be a romantic buff, I heard he was willing to part or loan the lady C$20k (and that, to me is a lot of money).![]()
