Good catch, JLennon! How did you know the "bubbly stadium" was the HHH Metrodome??? Are you perchance working in the architectural field?
As for how I ended up here, I came Stateside immediately after finishing NS in Singapore to pursue a postgrad degree, and ended up being offered a job in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul), which I gladly accepted. I've been living here for quite a few years now, but I do go back to visit Singapore every year. Miss the Hainanese chicken rice, lah!

nope, my area of work is nowhere near the architectural field. I just happened to recognise the metrodome (i'm sure there aren't many in the world). On the contrary, I am not familiar with the state of Minnesota but it looks like a pleasant place to be in. Reminds me of Toronto though.
Hainanese chicken rice is a great dish if the chicken is plump enough. Unfortunately, those in Singapore tend to be a little scrawny... -

MG : I wasn't paying much attention to the background of that bronze statue pix but you sure zero in eh? Minneapolis? That's the birth place of David Letterman and also annual venue for the Indy 500? You warmer? Are you sure? I think you get more snow than Toronto ley. How's the city? There are bus tours to your city but so far I've not taken it because of my poor knowledge of the place so don't know what to see and do there. Anyways, if you visit TO, let me know. I'll tell you the locations of the S'pore/M'sian restaurants.

Pardon the questions. I am always curious about what other Singaporeans think about Minnesota, as it is not exactly a popular vacation destination with them. In fact, in the over 10 years I have lived here, I have never met another Singaporean in Minnesota. A few Hong Kongers and a smattering of Malaysians with whom to trade some Singlish phrases, yes, but never a Singaporean.

It's not very often that one sees five people manhandling a statue in public. Heck, if I saw that happening, I'd give them a wide berth too!
Wasn't the statue secured to some kind of foundation and/or pedestal?
