Just watched this movie tonight and I give it an 8.5 / 10!!
Initial D is a race-car movie with a difference - it focuses on the Drifting technique that's engaged by racers when they round a bend. No fancy sports cars here, unlike your 'typical' racing movies, but I liked how they made the lead drive a pretty 'normal' car used for tofu deliveries to race.
I've not read the manga and I'm wondering how closely the movie stuck to the actual storyline in the manga. Anyone can enlighten me?
It was comical, light-hearted, the music was appropriate for portraying the mood and setting the pace, the racing skills were wow and there were parts where you there was so much action and suspense!
Best of all, the lead and his girlfriend had a pretty atypical ending, which I think added depth to the show.
Overall, a really enjoyable movie! (But then again, I love to watch movies featuring sports cars, races, etc.

generally i am fine, just that my cough is threatening to demolish my lungs.
phelgm that glues itself to my throat no matter how much water and how hard i cough.
my voice sounds weird and i can barely hear myself.

I really like the part where Nakumi fell in love with the girl after she kissed him and all he did the whole day was smile goofily and go 'uh... uh...'
