think it's gonnaa be like wat u see.. they wanna portray a hi-tec and clean feeling..... lotsa glass and metals... bring ur owm cushion??Originally posted by Rhonda:I just hope that the interior decor shown in that flythrough is just a virtual one ... cuz I'd hate to see the library in stark white with plastic chairs and metal furniture.I hope they're going to use warm, earthy colours and lots of wood - that'll make it look real cozy and inviting!
I saw its new site on this map... it's in-between the City Hall and Bugis MRT Stations.
Wow... they have those?!Originally posted by SydneyLibrarian:Sorry, just saw your post!
Yea... professional periodical journals are available from any multimedia stations at any of the public libraries in Singapore. A good one to use is Proquest! It's about $2/hr to access these online databases.
They might have... just give them a call / email to askOriginally posted by Rhonda:Wow... they have those?!
Would you know if they have Ovid?
Indeed.A very good question, something that will shut the library assistants up but will still get you a standard SG Govt-issued "I'll look into it but in the meantime, you are not allowed to use the power sockets".Originally posted by $e@wEeD:does tis lib has wireless and power socket for people to use their laptops there? hmm such sucky lib i knew of stop people from using their power sockets when they fix so many around the lib...why they stop ppl from using when there's wireless to promote high tech and so many power sockets lying ard? for show?

Most likely, the space will be rented out to companies. That will generate rental income for NLB (and the govt). It's in a prime location too so they were thinking ahead to the dollars and cents!Originally posted by The man who was death:The library only like use one side of the building leh, the other side dunno use for what
They already have Han's opening there and also the other side of the building is much bigger than the library building. And it's opening tomorrow!!!Originally posted by Rhonda:Most likely, the space will be rented out to companies. That will generate rental income for NLB (and the govt). Saw them setting up a stage i think for a opening ceremony on my way to school today. Looks like the library is using the whole building rather than only one side.Originally posted by Rhonda:Do they have any special events planned for tomorrow?
I visited the National Library Board's website but was surprised that they don't have a huge announcement on the Official Opening in the index page.![]()
