NLB will not be a white elephant. just food centre. so many restaurants and cafes. even han's is opening there!

basement 1 is where most people will go - the only floor where books can be borrowed. (ridiculous)

I saw the NLB on the news and I particularly like the big open indoor gardens and spaces, and the observatory at the top.

Funny, I misread that you were going to take some shots of the wedded couple at the NLB , after ROM I thought - those pictures would turn out quite modernist

I believe this National Library building was set up mainly as a reference point, rather than a borrowing library. Apart from housing collections such as southeast asian collections, reference library etc, there are also offices inside where diff. departments in NLB are (instead of the staff being at various locations such as Millenia Tower, Marine Pde & Geylang lib, etc). The National Arts Council's Drama Centre also takes up 4 floors of the building.

I'd rather some young ppl work at the libraries, all the libraries only got aunties working. U know the cliche fantasy of meeting a young helpful librarian? It can't happen here at all!!! -
