So far, I still hold the dubious record for being the longest-lasting ICU nurse there.
And, yeah, a dinner date.

littlestream, I read about your weekend plans and how you're going to cook up a storm!
You're living the sort of life I've been dreaming of since I was a teen! Entertaining close friends now and then, and having guests over at the house.
This VIP I worked for, they're sooo rich, but they don't make use of the facilities they have on their huge huge plot of land. Gee, if I had their kind of wealth, I'd be holding poolside parties, BBQ's and pajama parties frequently!
Oh, littlestream, back to cooking! I bought six very large Angka Prawns yesterday. 'Angka' as in Hokkien for 'red legs'! Cute name, right?
They're huge! They're about 4-5 times larger than the regular tiger prawns! Sooo huge, soooo juicy! Since I only have a microwave right now, I decided to see what I could do with what little I have. Bought the Angka Prawns, bought a packet of Hot & Spicy Sauce meant for steamed fish but I checked the ingredients list on the packet and it sounded pretty good, esp since it had dou ban jiang in it, so I tried microwaving the prawns with the sauce. Turned out sedap! Yummy! The prawns were cooked just right. Not bad, eh, my agak-logy (estimation)! Not easy to cook with the microwave and not my appliance of choice but oh well, I have to make-do.
Soooo tempted to purchase more kitchen appliances but have to restrain myself because of my plans. Must always bear in mind my ultimate plan from now on. -

Yeap, the lifestyle is good. Nicely paced, relax, peaceful...... In fact, last evening, hubby and I sat at the deck, him strumming guitar and singing although the patio radio was on. To camouflage his singing lah. -

I didn't finish all six! How could I?! They are each quite large! I just ate three. Saved the other three for cooking tomorrow.
I wish I could call myself a good cook but I haven't cooked for so long, I think I'm out of touch already. It's still my dream to be a good cook, though! I've dreamt of that since I was a wee li'l tot! Me and cooking go a long way back! -

Besides, you might not be aware but there's such a thing as 'class' system still in existence here, albeit not so transparent. A few of the docs come from rich families with generations of doctors. They will only approve of it if their doctor sons or daughters marry into the same 'class', and not someone poorer or from a more humble background. A lot of marriages between the rich and status-conscious folks aren't love marriages but rather, 'appropriate' marriages.
I know this sounds kinda crazy, but it really exists.
