Movie Buffs...

Do you usually watch movies :
- at the cinemas;
- by renting the VCD's / DVD's at rental shops;
- borrowing from friends / colleagues; OR
- using rental services like hollywoodclicks.com?
If you're using the latter, could you please give me a review of the service? I'm contemplating trying them out! Thanks!

to me, 35/month is pricey to me.
maybe that's just the student in me speaking.

go cinema to watch....but oni those i think worth-watching.....
other times will be wait for VCD to come out then buy.....watch in the comfort of the house.....with chips and drinks and bed within reach

i am using hollywood clicks now. rather. i lazy to use..gotta cancel it soon..havent watched any dvds since i started work..wasting money.

3disc limit(u can hold up to 3discs at 1 shot) it's fine. considering u arent intending to torture test yr dvd drive.
if u need more info abt their plans then i explain.
frankly speaking i am those who are damn picky abt movies. i probably watch less than 5-10% of movies at the cinemas each year., so after using the service for 1 -2mths i've depleted my 'pick' there.
loads of movies divided into many genres
the very first disc that u book when u sign up will be sent immediately( before 5pm on working days) and they will call u up and ask how's the service(as if that's gonna carry alot of weight)
if u book today, assuming no one else is holding on to it or booked earlier, u get it ard 2 working days later.
quite convenient. -

Hmm... after what you and bismarck said, I think, really have to consider if it's worth the fees.
In the beginning, I thought that it'll be worth it cuz sometimes, when I rent, it gets overdue and then have to pay the fines. Not fun. In hollywoodclicks, you can hold the DVD's for as long as you like. No due dates, no overdue fines. -
Download at home!! to watch. Mostly download those sexy ones

I rent at stores near my house so that it's convenient to drop by from work. Prices are pretty standard, $3 for VCD, $4 for DVD. What I hate are store policies with too short rental times like 1 day per disc
Very pressure to finish the discs quickly. -

I really dislike the due dates system because sometimes, you borrow the DVD's thinking that you would surely be able to finish watching them before the due date, then work or what-not crops up, or you're plain not in the mood to watch them, and before you know it, you have to pay overdue fines. That really really spoils the fun!

just a note, my tastes for movies is very different from others.
the only fun abt it is that no due dates -
Action packed movies that I think are worth watching, I will go to the cinema and watch...has been a long time since I went actually...
The rest, all I watched on rented DVDs or TV. If the movie is nice, then I will buy the DVD
Currently going to buy Joy Luck Club. If you haven't watched that one, you have to! Or at least read the book...
