If I were unemployed, to kill time, I would try to read the newspaper every morning, listen to music, watch DVD's / Cable TV, read books and mags and tidy up my house!

And oh, I forgot about getting addicted to computer games and / or Club 30!

I would enjoy indulging in whatever I wanted to do for maybe 3-4 weeks, afterwhich I'd consider picking up a hobby or finding a temporary job. I would relish taking on a job I would otherwise never consider if I were employed, something like cashier / customer service asst at Kinokuniya / Borders, checkout counter personnel at Carrefour / Cold Storage / Toys 'R' Us, kitchen help, etc. Just to keep busy and earn pocket money to survive, as well as to discover something new.

If money's not a problem, I would love to take up courses! It could be those short courses at SIM, or longer ones like a diploma or an external degree.
I think the tricky thing about unemployment is, the longer one stays unemployed, the deeper one sinks into depression. Besides, this being an employers' market, unfortunately, they might not think favourably of being 'idle'. It's not fair, but I reckon it happens.

many a times when asked why i was not working i felt like telling the interviewer 'its because you people dont want to offer me a job!!!'.
