Surprise... guess why children of smokers are usually asthmatics? Guess why non-smokers sometimes get lung cancer? Guess why some folks get various respiratory problems like sinusitis? Different bodies react differently to the same substance. One person being able to 'survive' through years of smoking does not conclusively prove that everyone will have the same outcome, and vice versa. What we can do, is look at the statistics, and that will make the situation glaringly obvious.
And, who says that you can't talk about death unless the factors you've listed happens?

Nope, not just restricted to Road Traffic Accident victims. Anyone who died, and did not sign the form opting themselves out of the HOTA (Human Organ Transplant Act), is eligible for organ donation provided, their condition prior to death renders organ harvesting feasible, ie. they must be 'good candidates' for organ harvesting. you know ... it may sound funny from a smoker, but i'd really like to see nightspots in singapore go smoke free ? ...... second hand smoke's different from first hand ones you puff from a ciggy, i get headaches if i breathe in too much second hand smoke ....

I often get headaches if I sit near smokers too. I've even personally done 'last office' for the deceased, which means, cleaning them up and putting on the shroud for them, and then dealing with all the necessary paperwork, and at times, helping to console the relatives.
In fact, just the day before, I went to work with a newly-admitted patient under my care, who died a few hours later.
My point is, you don't have to meet 'qualifying criteria' before you can talk about something. Anyone can discuss the issue of death - there's no exclusive 'membership' thingy! -
