Does the stress of the job ever get to you?
My weekend was fairly uneventful. I took last Friday off, and yesterday (Monday) was Labor Day, a public holiday. So I had a rare 'ultra-long' weekend. However, I spent most of the time nursing my allergies which went into overdrive during the weekend. I'm fairly immune to tree and grass pollen, but when ragweed pollen starts flying, I'm usually down for the count. And we're nearing the peak of ragweed season now. Not fun.
Yesterday, I helped a good friend install and set up a 50-inch high-definition plasma TV in his basement. The unit was frikkin' expensive and heavy, but the picture quality was out-and-out GORGEOUS!! If I had US$4500 burning a hole in my pocket, I'd get one in a heartbeat. Sadly, civil servants in this state are not well paid...

I got my very first allergy when I was in Tulsa, OK in spring. Man, the pollen floated in the air, drifting idylly by the open window of the beaten-up ol' Cadillac my American friend was driving. I thought, wow... like some dreamy anime in slow-mo... so beautiful...
And then, I kena nasty allergies!
Worse, I was at the tail-end of a flu I had caught here in SG. So, flu plus allergies, yucks. My nose felt like something inside it had swelled up.
Probably some kinda sinusitis. Bad, man!
Does the stress of the job get to me? Yes. It does. And that's when my support circle of mom and friends come into the picture.
Well, nowadays, my friends are mostly too busy or too far away for me, so, it's other stuff... like... erm... like... oh hell! No replacements!! No wonder I'm getting cranky and a bit psychotic these days! -
