Our division manager has openly stated that she is not against our taking a spontaneous 'mental day' vacation, if we feel that we need to take a day off to refresh our mental faculties. She even said we could officially rack it up as a sick day. She's pretty cool in my books!

Think of it this way - the past six years, I've been depressed - the first three years, mildly so; my fourth and fifth years were rollercoaster years from being extremely down-in-the-dumps depressed to 'ok, think I can handle it but I'm not happy at all' ; the past year, I've been mostly ok, but still, not quite ok, it still leaves a lot to be desired.
And then, just when I thought I've reached a 'peaceful' plateau where I've learnt to get around the system, stay under the 'radar' as much as I can, I get transferred!!
I tell you, in Nursing, the seniors can be downright hostile and antagonistic to newbies. On top of that, I've been assigned out of the ICU in an area of work I have no interest in and that's far busier than my old ward.
And, I no longer get to work with my friends in my old ward.
This much I've learnt about myself - that though I value my alone-time, I am actually very attached to friends I've grown to love. I've got so much to say now, especially since work has not been smooth and so eventful, but no one to listen to me in the way I would love to. Don't get me wrong, there are friends who DO listen ... but they just don't stroke my fur the right way, y'know! -

Yoz peeps,wow looks like today is the day for whining and so i shall duly obliged.. Screw exams man,the stress is even causing me to get tummyaches during papers,bloody crap i wasted 10mins of my 2 hours today just to crap..ARGH and i hate hate tax..Nvm,tomorrow financial management,damnit my worst module.. Lectures attended - none , tutorials attended -65% ...Please use some lubricant if you wana screw my ass,don't make it so tough for me eh exam gods please??

They had to put on goggles and a noseclip, dunk their heads into the tank of cow's blood and use their teeth to bite on to metal rings that are placed at the bottom of the tank!!
Man, isn't that sooooo unhygienic and a health risk??!!!
A close-up of one of the female contestants after she had stood under the shower to wash off the blood showed some dried blood left in the crevices of her ears!! EEEEEeeeeeeeeeeewwwww!!! -

I honestly feel kinda worried that Wanda is going into nursing. Couldn't help thinking about that today.
But oh well, we all have our dreams that we MUST chase after and even if someone warns you about the traps and boulders in your path, you still have to try it out for yourself and experience it first-hand.
I hope you'll have a better experience, Wanda! -

This Saturday, I sit for my IELTS exams.
Hopefully, I'll pass with flying colours!
This is Step 1! Once I get my exam results two to three weeks later, the wheels are then set in motion!

I didn't do well enough in my 'A' levels to get a place in our local U for the course I wanted to do. That was the first failure in my school life! All along, I did pretty well in school and then, that rude shock came!
I was sooooooo shocked by that that I vowed to NEVER fail any exam again!
And that motivated me so much that I went on to ace not one, but a few subsequent exams! -

Which other 'profession' can be paid less than us?!
And nope... they are not 'more slack'. They do a lot of hard work when they work with patients in the ward. Like us, they have to do a lot of lifting, positioning and supporting of patients, so they end up getting backache like us.
They also run outpatient clinics where people who have been injured or who have suffered from some illness that caused them to lose mobility but have since gotten well, go to for specially designed exercises to help them restore and regain as much mobility as they could.
To be a physiotherapist, you have to love people, and be very very patient. Some patients need a lot a lot of coaxing and sometimes, you'll end up standing with the patients for a long time, supporting them, as they take one small, tiny babystep.
Physiotherapists also have to give 'Chest Physio' to patients. When patients have a lot of secretions in their lungs or airways, the physio steps in to pound the back of these patients, and perform suctioning to help remove these secretions to help them breathe better.
If you're paranoid about cleanliness, then you might not be able to perform the Physio role well. Some of the patients look dirty, and they might stink, or they are incontinent, but the physios still have to work with them, touching them, having close contact with them.
