Yeah, it's been a good trip - I've managed to lay down the groundwork for a lot of necessary developments over the next 6-12 months.

Yeah, IPSC's out for the moment - I'm literally switching between Singapore and Melbourne on a monthly basis at the moment. Hopefully the room will stop spinning by early next year, and then I'm going to have to choose between motor racing and shooting. Say, is S$1200 a fair price for a Glock 17, by the way?
As for the price of a Glock 17, I am only familiar with how much it costs here in the US: at the retail level, they're usually going for between US$500 and US$550, with two 17-round magazines. They can be mail-ordered for less than that (I've seen them advertised for as low as US$450), but you'll have to go through the hassle of transferring it to a local FFL and paying for the shipping charges and transfer fee imposed by the FFL, so that when everything is said and done, it would end up costing as much as if you had purchased it from a local dealer.
How much are they going for in Australia? -
Not sure about the Australian price, but my mate who's in Singapore's IPSC is looking at one for $1200. From the prices that you've quoted, though, even with all of the transfers and paperwork, $1200 seems a bit of a markup.

It requires mental fortitude, but you can attempt to ignore the crap and relish the good. Makes for a more tolerable day overall. -

oh well.. sometimes i wish they'd go somewhere and do their sucking somewhere else and let those people who still feel a sense of responsibility do their work without executive interference..
