I had a Japanese Spitz before and he is highly territorial
He bites any strangers that go near him or try to enter our house
So when we have visitors we have to tie him somewhere where he can't see them if not he will go on barking like a mad dog -

But most are friendly -
Depends on temperament and breed. Anyway the dogs I had before are all trained to be guard dogs so they aren't friendly to strangers but very affectionate towards us.
With the exception of this Cross Labrador/pug who is just so sweet that there is no way she can guard the house -

My retrivier used to kill anything he finds in the garden. I have found dead rats, dead cat =\, dead cockroaches, lizards, even a 3 foot iguana before.
Spitz kills cockroches and my Pommy killed rocaches as well. These 2 are ok with cats though. -

Coz i notice most of my relatives in malaysia use those sticker stuff sold by pest busting companies
I think a pet like a frog or iguana would be nice -
