Way back then, they are called rickshaw rider because their uniform resembles the rickshaw riders of the day
Now its more like white shirt blue pinafore...not much tho -

Pros :
- don't need to think about what to wear everyday
- cheap - uniforms are provided free!
- everyone sticks to a dress code and, in places like schools, it can save the students' parents a lotta money because kids in school won't be able to go around spending their parents' money buying designer wear, trying to do the one-up! (Can hear the moms and dads heaving a sigh now! haha!)
Cons :
- no creativity, no leeway to express your individuality
- boring, staid!
- if the style of your uniform doesn't suit you, you'll look like a walking pumpkin or whatever!

Well.. thing is.. when u've hit puberty. It's a pretty bad stage to be in as it is emotionally and stuff.
