I always loved Genting Highlands, for it's cold weather than anything else!
Explored KL too... got pretty familiar with their train network as a result - still think the one we have back home is more efficient. The ticketing machines there are kinda dumb... you can only insert notes ONCE so if you want to insert two RM1 notes, too bad, cannot be done! And if you insert polymer notes by mistake, they'll just swallow up your money. 
The machine swallowed up my RM1 polymer note and didn't even return it when I press 'Cancel'! -

I didn't take train rides to far-out locations. We mainly took rides to our destination only.
It was awful - their trains' air-conditioning was erm... in 'sauna' mode. -
