In my case, I was pretty sure the food poisoning was caused by consuming some sausages that had been in my fridge for over two months. I was pretty much 'throne-bound' for the next two days, until a friend brought me some pink-colored "stomach relief" chewable tablets to calm the thunder.
That just happened last week; my appetite still has not fully returned.

Times like that, it's great to have those diarrhoea pills lying around the house.
Your appetite will return slowly. In the meantime, you know which foods to eat, which to avoid, right? And, no milkshakes in the meantime, okie!
No milkshakes... yet! Just lots of fruits (bananas and apples) and vegetables (mainly carrots) until my appetite fully returns.

I find that a very good cure for diarrhea is a large drink of hard liquor, whisky, vodka or the like .... at a pinch a 6 pack of beer would do too ....
