  Yes, when the other one has other interests, you can learn from them and don't stick just to your own world consisting of your interests only. It opens new doors, new knowledge and maybe you start to like them and they become your interests too.

  I doubt it's possible to share everything (interests, tastes, appearances and personality) with somebody else. Maybe only one or 2 at a time.

  In my life, I've met two guys with similar character to me. Not similar interests, but rather, personalities.
  
  Sadly, I ruined my chances with the first due to the folly of youth, and the second was simply a blind and deaf bloke who just couldn't SEE it!

  Quite a lot for me. I don't have a habit of going with the majority and most of friends do. Their thinking, sense of humour, interests and all are almost the same as me.
